Well every time he got an opportunity for us he worked his arse off. There are a lot of people who see a tough tackling player and automatically assume he works hard, but that wasn't Smith. He chased down every ball, went into every tackle and never complained when Fergie converted him from striker to midfielder. He was a very useful player, and his injury was a shame. Obviously everyone here will have different opinions on him that may be justified, but for I liked him for us.

I think the actual team quality around us is as good as it's been for a while. City, Chelsea, Spurs, Everton etc all have very strong teams on paper, but nobody has seemed to perform this season aside from us. Since it's not our fault that other teams lack consistency and a bit of stability in Chelsea's case, I think it's a bit harsh to say we're a poor Championship winner. It's kind of psyching me out talking like we've won it though, especially after last season. I need to quit that.

Can't believe so many people backed us there. This was the last hoorah for City in the league. I thought they were good odds and would have back them only I can't bet against us, only suggest it.
