Trippier, Burn, Wood and Bruno G etc. joined two months after Howe did. In that time he had won 2 games (against 17th place Leeds and relegated Burnley), drawn 4 and lost 4, while going out of the FA Cup at home to Cambridge. Come on Bobby. They came because they knew Saudi money was going to be pumped into the club and success was inevitable.

I'll trust the reliable sources of Manchester United cheers.

I don't think Amorim does that at all. He talks about how it's his job to improve the team and that it ultimately lies with him and if he can't turn it around he will walk. He's also open and honest about how bad it is, because that's the truth. I know that's not how all managers are, and I'm not saying it's definitely the right way to be either but it's quite refreshing. The thing with Ten Hag is that he was brought in to play the same football he played at Ajax. He tried it, it didn't work, and then he went back to playing the way Ole did. Literally within the first few games as well. He got pelters from opposition fans and the media for not having his own style of play and he ended up being very pragmatic to try and win games. He won us two trophies, but you didn't know how he was going to set up from one game to the next. I don't think those players had a clue what was going on. Amorim has had ups and downs, but at least he has his way of playing. We can build an identity under him. We've improved in a lot of areas, but are still miserable in others. I do genuinely think a good RWB and a top striker makes a huge, huge difference though. I just want this season to end so we can find out.

I didn't read it to be fair. Just noticed the comparison between the two and wanted to be quick to note about how much more money Howe got to spend in January than Amorim.
-
That's correct. Howe also had £100m worth of signings in January and was able to full focus on the league from January until the end of the season. Once again, I'm a huge fan of Eddie Howe. Just stating that Amorim deserves more time, and Howe's success can be used as an example of why.
-
They might have beaten us last night, but if there's one team I have zero worry about it's Spurs. They were honking last night, which is what makes the defeat embarrassing.
-
You will laugh I'm sure, but our performances were improving massively. There's just a mentality issue within the squad. Once there was nothing to play for in the league they completely sacked it off and performances dropped. Amorim will get 4-6 players this summer and in January in addition to Dorgu and will probably be expected to achieve European football or he'll lose his job. That's my guess.

Going to RedCafe for a genuine Man United opinion is like me going to RTG to get an opinion on Newcastle. It is a shit show there.

This is a huge point though I feel. Amorim got a 20 year old wing back. Howe got Wood, Trippier, Burn and Bruno Guimarães. £100m worth of reinforcements. I don't want to make this into a Howe vs. Amorim debate anyway. I've been very vocal on here about my support of Howe, and have always rated him a fantastic manager. I'm just trying to draw parallels in their appointments and subsequent bad starts. The fans just have to trust that they will stick by him. From the sources coming out of the club, Amorim and the board have a good relationship and he's not afraid to tell them exactly what is required. We need new blood in the team, and I don't think it's fair to judge Amorim before he's even got one new senior player added to his squad, especially after he's just taken us to a European final.
-
Which bit? Because that's all cold hard facts.

To me recommending Howe for the job was fucking stupid anyway. At that point he was building something special with you and was pretty much untouchable and would never have come. Felt like Ashworth just firing out names for the sake of it and not attainable targets. We all wanted Amorim, and that's not going to change after a rough 6 months. I think far, far too much is being put into the players for the system as well. The only specialised position for it is the wing backs, and IMO a good wing back can be a good full back. It's not like if it doesn't work out for Amorim that you're left with 11 players who can't play 442.
-
If anything, Howe should be used as an example. He came in at the same time of the season Amorim did. You were already out of the league cup, and suffered a humiliating defeat by Cambridge under Howe in the FA Cup. No European football to contend with either unlike Amorim. He was able to fully focus on the league, but still started with 1 win his first 9 I believe? And that win was against a team that ended up relegated. He got wins against teams like Everton, Southampton, Leeds etc. who were all circling the relegation drain, but got slapped by the better sides, including Spurs. Now look at Howe and what he has done with the side. I remember the forum at the time as well when it started poorly. Mouthpieces like Nobody suggesting he wasn't up to it and you should have gone for someone else. Howe has been given half a billion to spend since then. Let us given Amorim even a single summer transfer window before judging him maybe?

Everyone loved Capology until it stated that Lloyd Kelly was on £150,000 a week.
-
Spurs did choke though. They were absolutely horrendous. I can't remember them having a shot on target and they had 20 odd percent position. And we still lost.
-
4th time they've beaten us this season. I never understood why people were confident we would win that.
-
Neither of us had to win last night if we're being honest.
-
Capology isn't a source itself, it "verifies" a wage based on other sources. We can agree to disagree and everyone can just continue to trust these sources for good or evil when the argument suits them.
-
What's this based on? How is his playing style and tactical philosophy not being considered? The only people calling for Amorim's head are, once again, opposition fans. Probably the same people on here who called for Howe's head after a bad patch this season.
-
Seeing The Daily Mail being shared more and more on here, and people need to stop.
-
No, you can't see individual wages. But you can see the full wage outgoings, and it can be cross-referenced fairly easily with the reported salaries, especially when there's 3 or 4 tier 1 sources reporting the same thing. Anyway, this isn't important.
-
It's a good forum, with some whoppers on it. No, someone changed my photo for me. I changed it back. I'm in work now, which is when I post.
-
From SweMag telling me what Man United players are earning? Agreed. Sometimes this is the case. We can see our wage outgoings on our accounts though and most of our players wages are sourced well. Hojlund's is accurate.
-
We think he's shown enough, and that the weaknesses on display are from clearly inadequate players. A lot of it is desperation I'm sure because he's so fucking likeable. He's refreshingly honest, he doesn't shy away from anything difficult, and he doesn't bullshit when it comes to poor performances. That being said, if the league form continues as it has into September/October, everyone will be calling for his head. A colossal improvement is needed.
-
Amorim has our full support. We want a full rebuild with a different approach. Not winning a trophy and acting like everything is OK and continuing on the way things were. I don't actually think Amorim got much wrong last night. Ugarte probably should have started, but other than that we controlled the game. We are just so toothless going forward and if Fernandes doesn't have a good game you just can't see where the goal is coming from. Cunha and a striker should be a start in fixing that.

Did you see the stats Bobby?
