I always thought Anderson looked the better of the two certainly more similar to Fab. He would undoubtedly improve us and anything under 50m would be good.
-
Not against that option at all, however Howe doesn't appear keen on Gordon playing RW and Barnes apparently can't play there.
-
Sell Gordon. The idea is not that far fetched it sounds like we considered it already. Upgrade our CB options with a high class eventual replacement for Schar. Buy Raphinha or Madueke or someone similar for RW and replace Wilson with some young high potential striker. Probably still have some money left to avoid having to sell someone we don't want to lose next June. Not ideal for sure but we do appear to have serious PSR issues and will continue to do so going forward.
-
I was hoping this might start a measured intelligent nuanced discussion, however apparently not.
-
If we really don't have enough money to buy the CB, RW and back up striker we need as a minimum to progress, maybe we are looking to move Gordon on. If we could get around 80m it would give us the means to spend some serious cash and we already have an excellent player in Barnes who plays in AG position. Thoughts? Sensible ones preferably.

If Man United go big with their new stadium surely our owners will have to follow suit with something new even if it doesn't have a 100,000 capacity.
-
Well the way this football club has been run has resulted in us winning nothing for 55 years so it's time for a different approach.
-
Not sure about any upside to the Tonali transfer so far forgetting the lost season already. He cost 55m which should make him pretty close to being a world class midfielder. which in the few games he did play he certainly wasn't. Jury is very much out so far on his transfer.
-
This is true but only if we have someone on the right or ideally two players on the right of the same quality and output of Barnes and Gordon.
-
Barnes is a player I like a lot and buying him to start at LW instead of ASM is something most of us could have got behind. However he's not starting and unless Howe tells Gordon to play RW he's not going to and that's a problem. Our first 11 and squad is not good enough to have someone of Barnes ability and G&A record sitting on the bench. If we don't sign an elite RW what is the starting 11, because if either Miggy or Murphy are starting we are extremely unlikely to be making any real progress in the league. I would switch Gordon to the right and start Barnes on the left. Just my opinion. Unless Barnes can play on the right which I don't think he can. They are currently our two best wingers by far so we need to find a way to get both of them starting.
-
Not buy Barnes to sit on the bench for starters, something he's going to be doing again unless we sell Gordon.
-
I'd like to know who? Maybe Minteh.
-
Of the RW we have been linked with I think he has the highest ceiling and would be a good player to get especially if the fee is under 50m. Although he's left footed, he does like to go outside occasionally and has a reasonable right foot. Buy him.

When it comes down to it is he the head coach or the manager? Every club has the same problem with how much power do they give to the coach/manager considering most of them get sacked or leave within a couple of years. If you let them choose all the players they like, when they get replaced you tend to be back to square one unless the squad is absolute top quality. I think the new management want Eddie to be the coach, in their words that's what he is good at, I expect Eddie wants to be the manager. There is a potential conflict, we will have to wait and see. If England do come calling it does give him an opt out.

Bellingham was abysmal anything above a 4 is being kind.
-
Fab's a great player but isolated one on one it's terrifying to watch.
-
I just cheered the Swiss goal. What the fuck has Southgate done.
-
Maybe. Very low bar though.
-
Apart from Spain and the Swiss against Italy, what a miserable boring tournament with so much bad management and mediocrity.
-
You'd like to think that Eddie or someone from the club rang him up before this all hit the press. Maybe explains why he fell off his bike while on a call.
-
Hopefully removing the sign is so they can knock down the stand.
-
Why is Mainoo playing deeper than Rice? Southgate is the most tactically inept manager .
-
Forest tried that, it didn't work.
-
Sorry about the messy copy and paste. What the fuck is going on?

A player who is also liked by Paris St-Germain, he scored 11 league goals for Newcastle last season and won the club's 2023-24 player of the season award., external ADVERTISEMENT Liverpool did not make any offer and they would not consider losing 21-year-old Quansah. The centre-back became a first-team regular last season and was in the preliminary England squad for Euro 2024, missing out on the final 26-man squad for the tournament. In addition, Liverpool are well stocked in the forward positions with Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota among their options. Newcastle have been contacted for comment by BBC Sport.
