@Elliottman Scroll down to So What Has Changed if you are too lazy to read the whole saga… Gobsmacked you’ve no knowledge of this Surely you even remember Simon Jordan’s explanation after Deader than a dead thing proclamation? https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/newcastle-united-takeover-saudi-qatar-bein-why-key
-
Where were you during the takeover?! It’s still the price they had stump up overall to purchase us. That’s why I scratch my head at those who think they are not committed.
-
PIF paid £1 billion to break the takeover deadock after trying actively not to have to for 2yrs almost. Once Bein had their money with 24hrs the takeover was complete for a further £305 to Ashley. So to purchase the club they spent £1.3bn.

I agree. Had the same problem in the 90’s hence expanding from 36k to 52k. All problems and disagreements etc will recycle until they open up that 68k stadium. Even then you hope that’s big enough for the clubs lifespan as can’t see another following it. At least I won’t

Not disagreeing with your overall point. Just saying I think between you and @Tsunami he’s the one likely to be proven right about who gets to attend any limited capacity games. I could be wrong. I’m quite surprised the club are selling 250 ST’s this summer TBH but guess they felt they needed some goodwill after the Dundee debacle. The kind of selfish fan base that wouldn’t work together to get rid of Ashley. Couldn’t get them to miss 10 minutes or a single game never mind half a season
-
Yep. Excited. Going to be another rollercoaster.
-
No chance that will happen IMO. Hence why (and we don’t need to rinse/repeat the debate) Murrayfield is an option being discussed. Ironically it might be the kind of move that might see off the more flaky ST holders we have and give you what you are looking for in the longer term.
-
Not really. Cost £1.3bn to buy us.
-
Not at all if it turns out to be the case. Like the lad (not particularly the player from what I’ve seen so far) and want him to do well. Always said to judge him 100% fairly he needs a pre-season with Howe both physically and tactically. However… IF we received a bid big enough this summer so not loosing silly money on him (was never going to be now hence the article but after a potentially great World Cup as Germany’s 3rd striker…) then I would’ve accepted it and either get a better suited 9 for this division or a better suited 10. Only Howe or Bruno leaving would’ve gutted me.
-
Shame about his injury. Reckon he would’ve been great under Howe.
-
Am I the only one to think Maresca has done a good job at both Leicester City and Chelsea?
-
The win over Juventus wasn’t particularly pleasing on the eye either.
-
You do realise how long we’ll need to be at SJP regardless whilst they build a new stadium?
-
That’s what I was hinting at. You know it’s coming sadly…
-
Current regs. Regs might be a lot different in 6/8/10 years. The idea has definitely been floated as unlikely we all think it sounds.
-
We already have too many ST holders for the Darlington Arena. That and SCR loss of revenues. Murrayfield will probably be the likely option if LNER can help increase timetable. You can train and tram stop it station to station in 1:45. Government might’ve finally dual’d the A1 by then I’d imagine it be for a season at least also. How many seasons where Spurs at Wembley?
-
Thats what I thought
-
That’s just to put the new foundations in so the club can have more events when no fixtures. The slope itself is not disappearing entirely I’ve been told.
-
Reducing it from 3ft to 2ft apparently.
-
On the subject of lopsided they are reducing the slope on the pitch for next season.
-
You do realise that would be the worst outcome ever
-
June apparently…
-
More than I thought I guess I was thinking more on the purchase/attending side of things.
