I agree with your point. Unfortunately due to the lack of authentication process for membership and minimal punishment if one caught being abused i think the clubs thinking was to treat ST Holders (who are also technically members don’t forget) the same as individual memberships on this occasion to avoid 1000’s of Cup Final tickets falling in the hands of un-genuine fans. Out of 853/100000 odds maybe no ST without Cup Scheme got any anyway but we’ll never know for sure. They need to look at the memberships from top to bottom going forward to factor in the effort the genuine make.
