Man Utd have a bigger stadium and better training facilities with the ability to attract some of the best players due to their legacy even when not in Europe. They’ve (yet to be seen) a highly rated manager by all accounts. They’ve got some very good players and squad. They will give us a run for our money this season. If they don’t the players know PSR doesn’t really apply to them so they can go again each transfer window. Unlike us. Going off the report figures we were never outbid and there was always hints in both deals we’d offered slightly better terms to the club. However if the player tells the selling club he only wants to go to one club then not much they can do. They can’t force him to sign for us. They will probably thank him and his agent for bringing an auction scenario to its peak level which both did by leading us along. You are thinking it’s two people buying a house off someone. It ain’t as with football the house gets the final say not the house seller. Ideally they want the best deal but ultimately if they’ve two offers over what they had expected anyway you just get the easiest deal done.

We won’t. He’ll be worth the same amount currently bid for him next year (£110m) and the market to sell him will be bigger likely to include his favourite team Barcelona. Any small amount of money lost will be gained many times over for every transfer window that’s passes in the clubs future an agent/player realises they can’t break a contract unfairly without consequences or demand ahead of schedule pay rises etc. Can’t put a price on power…

We’d still have one of the best strikers in the world to get us through the league and CL campaign. Vardy would be Wilson’s replacement and from what I saw of him in the couple of games I saw him play he was a handful for Crystal Palace and made a mug of Guehi at times and beat him for pace to score and when I went down to Leicester he caused us problems and could’ve pinched two goals and give even Burn trouble in the air. Give him a one year deal and I’m sure he’d do well for us coming on for Isak even if it got us to January and revisit the market. We ain’t going to overpay wildly in a panic. Marginally maybe but not wildly so I think our options will be limited now the season is underway way.
