Yep after 30mins. Replace by Luuk De Jong
-
If only… Was hoping it was Cootes
-
Ben Jacob’s. Also said sensitive which has left us all a bit puzzled
-
I’ll take your word for it. Last I heard he was still part owned etc. What do you think the issue would be then that would make it a tricky deal except price?
-
Who is the ref for this one?
-
IIRC he is co-owned by 2 clubs 50-50. Porto and I believe Athletic Madrid. Numerous agents also possibly. So basically not ideal if you are trying to get a deal done in the final throws of the window especially when it’s widely known you are desperate

Ring in anyone if you fancy a chat…

Looks like Napoli in the hunt for last minute centre forward now. Lukaku out for 3+ months

With regards to Wissa behaviour the situations are different from the players side but not from the clubs. Any money promised to Isak we now have the PSR headroom to discuss a way forward with a new contract so ultimately getting what was claimed the issue 12 months ago. So ultimately the club has kept its promise once it had its house in order to avoid losing points. Wissa we are lead to believe had gentleman’s agreement he could go for £25m which was indicated to us and why we bid that amount. We’ve even raised our offer it seems to as high as £35m+£5m if reports are to be believed to get it done knowing the player was very keen but had an extra year activatable and our need great for the Villa game. From the players POV he’s 4 yrs older than Isak and probably his last big move and chance for UCL also. That is not the case with Isak at 25 with 2 big moves left and already having UCL football available to him this season as well as a team being built to compete further as opposed to a team and to a certain extent a club being rebuilt again after losing half its stars, its manager and its footballing analysts etc. Not a fan of either of their behaviour but certainly slightly more justification in Wissa’s if all is true IMO.

The rise wasn’t that simple due to PSR. Also the agent wanted a release clause inserted which meant we lost control of the situation. Ive said it before but if NUFC had of done exactly what was asked by Isak and agent 12 months ago we’d of been worse off now. We’d of paid increased wages to Isak for 12 months and he’d of had a club activate his release clause this summer at a price they would’ve demanded at probably a UK record fee AT that time of £115-125. He may be in a huff at the moment but it’s World Cup year. He’s on a very good contract and we’ve not had to deal with the ripple effect yet a pay rise would’ve caused in the dressing room and we still get to say what the price is which is currently to us £150+m.

You won’t. You’ll have Isak.
-
I’m not kidding when I watched his highlights and defending on YT and had to check my settings fearing I’d left them on half speed Everything looked so pedestrian.
-
Nothing like Isak!? Sticking with my Wood/Crouch comparison. Think I run quicker at my age
-
So which way do you want the pendulum to swing? Jackson to us and Watkins remains or Jackson to Villa and Watkins to us?
-
Too busy reminding everyone we are keeping Isak.
-
I’m going to have YT this lad as what I’ve seen of him in the Euros he was more like Chris Wood/Peter Crouch than Isak in terms of style
-
Some sanity in thread at last. Isak doesn’t leave without replacement in ideally 12 months prior. This is all about replacing Wilson now as far as I’m concerned.
-
It is. Though PSR wise makes no difference to Chelsea now as past the deadline. Would be based solely on how much they want him out the door. Overall though yes you’d think if not the price ideal negotiations would be smoother and quicker which is what we require to replace Wilson.
-
I don’t know what you are talking about or whose form dropped off massively or if you are responding to what I’m discussing. Sorry.
-
They won’t have any now. This is why I think Isak stays. Not only did they exhaust their Wilson list. They now know in advance they’ve no one to bed in if they decided to sell Isak in 12 months. They had a plan for two strikers LONG term but not both in this window. Sesko was never really part of the plan this window but as soon as he was and we missed out we were done trying to get 2 in. The plan B you seek now might be attacking midfielders and try and get more goals from midfield and create more chances for a less potent forward (Osula + Gordon) until Isak is reinstated.
-
Where you been all summer? Wissa was never on our original list of targets! The plan to replace Wilson was… A: Delap B: Pedro C: Ekitike
-
We’ve not much choice to do any different as we hold no cards. Just like Liverpool.
-
And in both cases BOTH players will end up playing despite the noise.
-
No chance IMO. Brentford don’t want to lose him. Late next week if at all.
