I think that is one of EH’s strengths. Hence why new players aren’t simply chucked in to sink or swim. I repeat the problem EH has had with the Longstaff issue is he had little to no other options for 11 months. I’m guessing EH trying to inform and remind fans that Longstaff was playing injured for the team was his best option of defending him. Don’t forget Longstaff displaced Tonali from the team and we started to get results again. Short memories from so many. Tonali’s time will come in the upcoming games no doubt. EH just wants the best version of him before he plays 90mins.

Worked out well for you then and everyone else thinking the same when thy sacked SBR Tonali has been available for a three games and has featured in them all. Longstaff played so much last season because of his suspension and other midfield injuries. Tonali’s time will come. As will Willock also returning from three injuries.
  3. Also wants EH to England to set us back further. That’s why you should never wash your dirty laundry in public.
  4. Watched Fulham Saturday. They play some really good stuff. Much more fluent than us currently. They still however seem to have the same Achilles heel in wobbling at crucial moments. Think it will be a similar if not more dominant home performance from the off than today but still a game where we’ll get a few chances in the second half. Hopefully we are ruthless and pick up a point if not three.

No matter how the game evolves i think I’ll always be in the camp of a keeper who makes big saves over good footwork. If only he could improve it slightly though…
  6. Football is quite often about combinations. His strengths/weaknesses are well discussed so no need for me to repeat them… but i do feel he plays much better with Trippier behind him. Which doesn’t really get highlighted.
  7. Kelly to start this one you’d think. Especially the way the game ended today for Hall. Bunce will lean that way I would’ve thought.

    Lewis Hall

Definitely has a stamina issue still. Can see him and Kelly rotating a lot this season though i expected Hall to started the home games not the aways.
  9. Lot of talk in the match thread about Barnes starting from almost everyone but lets be honest when he has he hasn’t done much. It does seem to work giving him 35-45mins. He’s certainly gives us another string to our bow going into the final third of games that is for sure…

    Football pet hates

My pet hate is teammates jumping on others shoulders from behind unexpectedly. Bruno did it today. Especially with our injury record

Try standing up and encouraging him. Might catch on with those around you. Through whatever you want at the TV at home of course

    Joelinton

Teams are definitely try to bully him a lot more. Needs to move ball on quicker at times as he’s not going to win every physical dual like he thinks he can. Being subbed HT won’t do him any harm. EH is far more ruthless than given credit for. Just trust him.

This. Brings others alive i feel.

He’s not th e best or my cup of tea but pretty sure he’d be better if the fans supported and encouraged him.

    Kieran Trippier

I’d say a combination of a poor pre season and then international break. No rhythm and needs to get fit and lose some of that kinder weight.
  16. Poor if slightly predictable performance. Thought Bruno might of missed out for Tonali today. Joelinton having one of those games he’s more hindrance than help. Trippier organising of the back feels missing. Expecting one if not two changes HT.
  17. My longstanding Spurs bingo card looking good today. Romero overrated ☑️ Maddison a show pony ☑️ Ange looking over his shoulder come Xmas ☑️
  18. Yep. Shame Bournemouth switched off at the end last night.
  19. Exactly. Part of the game is learning the ref as much as the opposition. I never expect consistency from one game to the next just within the game itself.
