  1. Cornet seems really obvious like, he'll probably end up at a bigger club than expected.
  2. I read that Sanjay (who's great) thread like but I just cannot see it, he'd essentially be a wide playmaker with Bruno behind him and Trippier beside him, both basically doing the same thing in that area, it seems a bit off imo. I'd hope we getting a pacy, direct left footer.
  3. The issue with Wood was exemplified last season imo, our style of play basically needed a game winner as we were very poor in the final 3rd. Hopefully a pre-season and someone like Maddison would change that (as well as having Trippier back). Miggy and Anderson were very direct from midfield at the weekend (Wood dropping back like a shit Harry Kane), and I think in general we'll look a lot more dangerous from midfield. We obviously need another forward like, it would be a pretty clear failure if we don't get one this window, but I don't think losing Wilson will completely kill our attacking play like it did last season.
  4. Yeah, we can afford to do it too as where we finish next season isn't THAT important. We can hopefully turn the screw next summer when we'll know exactly where we're at.
  5. Why would his agent be sounding out a new deal? He has 2 years left on his contract, he doesn't need to play some over the top subterfuge for Leicester to give him a better one.
  6. Our defence needed sorting, as we'd just be shipping goals left and right otherwise. Midfield and attack we seem to just be going for top quality players. May settle for a loan, or cheap option late on but we obviousy still have high priority targets available.
  7. Almiron FGS and Newcastle -2.5 @40/1 Cannot think of a more nailed on bet this weekend.
  8. An absolutely massive midfield destroyer is always fun like. West Ham do some great business on paper.
  9. Beradi's numbers are essentially impossible to achieve by being shite like He got 15 goals and 14 assists last season, and has gotten 20+ goal involvements each season the past 3 year (fair few pennas I think). It's like people calling Inzaghi shite becuase he was infamously poor on the ball. I really enjoy Milanista's posts, he seems really well informed, but I don't think he's an internationally renowned scout or anything.
  10. The main thing for me was how relatively easy we made it look to nulify most of the league. I don't think it was luck and I don't think it's something managers can just counter next season. Most teams aren't good enough on the ball to effectively play against well organised pressing.
  11. Man City, Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea are all way beyond us. Man Utd and Arsenal should be but both have it in them to cock it up. West Ham are the best of the rest and everything going well should be finishing above us - great squad and manager who seems to get it right for the most part. Leicester, Wolves, Brighton, Palace and Villa have strong squads and good managers (except Gerrard who is unproven) but none of them seem to fully click. We can finish above any of them
  12. Aye I doubt the likes of Hope are just making stuff up. If we go in for Maddison again he looks stupid, he's obviously going off of something. It all just seems weird.
  13. I can believe them when they say a bid has went in or has been rejected, but I don't see how Hope would have any idea about any 'budget', or how much we value a player. It seems pretty unlikely those things would be properly discussed with anyone outside of the club's transfer circle.
  14. We should buy Paqueta for 40 million, and them offer him to Leicester in a swap deal for Maddison.
  15. An FFP budget* makes no sense anyway, as different players will effect it in different ways. A 32 year old will have a greater impact than a 20 year old for example, as any money you put into the 32yr old is essentially dead, the 20 year old could be sold in 2 years time for a percentage of whatever they were bought for (either above or below 100%). The odds our owners and their accountants have just went "40 million, aye?" seem canny low. *well you could budget for it, but it would be an incredible complex algorithm, not a single figure.
  16. He tweeted that yesterday. So he's apparently been made aware of this 40m budget within the last 24 hours.
  17. Can some braniac hoy up a quick list of all the (close to) verified bids, and how much, we've put in this summer?
  18. Pete Graves works for Sky and it's pretty obvious he's had no clue what's going on for donkeys.
  19. If 40m is our budget then it seems highly unlikely we would have bid for Maddison like. Not because it would blow it. But because it's obviously a waste of time. And in spite of what a few in this thread are praying for, we're not just wasting our time putting in pointless bids
  20. Seen him in Tesco, said areet. He just held two fingers under my nose and said "smell your fatha".
  21. Leiceter want £60m. We offer £35m. Rejected. Word comes out they will accept £50m up front. We offer £40m. Rejected. Player puts in a transfer request. We offer £45-50m structured deal. Accepted. Maybe that's it, maybe it's not, nee cunt knows
  22. It probably doesn't matter what the initial bid was, the point of an opening bid is to let someone know you're wanting to enter negotiations. Your initial bid should pretty much never be accepted.
