James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)
Hanshithispantz replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
I like how we are seemingly are building from the back, slowly upgrading every position. Maddison completes our midfield, it would be one of the best in the league when you do the obligatory "exclude Liverpool and Man City". -
That would be a shame like.

Absolutely clueless about the Premiership like I mean it's understandable but fucking hell. Going to be a mindbending experience for them watching Joelinton bully their beautiful boys off the park like, -

Going to be absolutely beautiful seeing the Forrest fans, father and son hand in hand, welling up with pride as their team steps onto the hallowed turf of Saint James' Park for their long awaited return to the top flight of English football. Hope in their hearts and a buoyant optimism sweeping across level 7. Only to hear "MIGUEL ALMIROOOOOOOOOOOON!" after 12 minutes. -

Wasn't there some mad statistic about Nottingham that like 70% of them were touchers or something? -

I wanted Paqueta but I'd not be disappointed with Madison Might even prefer him, he's at the absolute top of what we can realistically expect to be signing at this stage. -

Must be said like, excited or not, they don't seem to know much about the Premiership on that forum -

I'm not deluded, they can definitely come here and win, but I just find it very unlikely, it's completely understandably they're going off their tits with excitement like. SJP will be absolutely rocking and only Liverpool (0-1) have picked points up here since Watford (1-1 Draw 9 home games ago) when we started to turn the screw. Even before then it's only Man City who've beaten us at home since Howe took over. You have to go back to the first game of the season to when we were last beaten by a side out of the top 4 in the league at SJP (I realise what I've just said there ). -
James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)
Hanshithispantz replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
The whole thing just has me confused like We've already signed 3 absolute top drawer footballers for a great price. People were like "just pay £50m for Carlos or Botman" at one point i'm sure (probably me). -
There's a month left of the window though and transfers are complicated. There's plenty examples of the best run clubs being involved in drawn out 'sagas'.
-
There's no reason for a 'decisive approach', there was in January. Why pull the trigger on Cornet if they still believe they can get a higher priority target?
-
We might prefer someone else though (Harrison maybe) and are just working on Cornet in the background as a backup, for the best price we can. It could also purely just be a stall tactic, we know we could activate his clause, and eventually will if we don't land our primary target, but are letting the agents know of our interest so he doesn't join Everton until later on in the window. I could just be talking shite and everything I've said could be way off. I can only assume that anything we're doing is carefully planned and we'll be well prepared for the season.

He walks into our side alongside Bruno and Joelinton. We then have Shelvey, Longstaff and Willock as really good backup. I would be suprised if we don't sign a forward as well, but we'll likely be leaving it late hoping for one of our top targets to become available for a good price before settling for Cornet/Sarr/a loan etc. -

Same with @LV seems a decent lad -
If we get Maddison and Bruno moves into the middle I wonder how Big Jo would do as an RCM instead of a LCM? I get that part of it's to cover Maxi like.
-
I doubt we're going to piss about over fees if there's no reason for it like.

You would think we would be up for it too like. I just think the way we play makes it very difficult for sides who aren't extremely good on the ball (like the top 4) to play their game. I think we'll go balistic with Wilson uo top. -
Think @KaKa said he was good there for Lyon. Left footed so would be an ideal fit for us you would think.

Pre-season (2025/26) - NUFC to play Atletico Madrid in Sela Cup
Hanshithispantz replied to bowlingcrofty's topic in Football
We've got a squad trained well, but obviously beyond our starting XI and few decent options beyond that we're lacking. Good enough for what we need at the minute but I wouldn't bank on a cup run like -
I don't think we're in a great position to judge any club nowadays mind
