How often does a team slowly build towards success? Genuine question. Most of the time it seems like a team either gets a new manager or buys good players and then starts doing better than they were when they had a shit manager and/or shit players.

How is it massively unrealistic though, really? West Ham finished in a Europa League place last season, Southampton got another. He's one of the best managers in the world, man. If we spend the money we need he'll build us a squad capable of at least challenging for Europe, I'm pretty certain of that. I'm also pretty certain that if we don't he'll be off not long after the window shuts. If we're a 'mid table side' next season I think it'll be under a different manager.

He'll not want us to be a mid-table side like, I'd be massively surprised if he didn't want to put together a squad that will at least challenge for Europe within the first season, and then he'll want to push on and go for the Champions League. He didn't come here to piss about.

Colback 'poor' today man, howay. He done exactly what was asked of him. He's shite but his 2 'good' qualities of being a dog chasing a bone and playing simple passes is pretty helpful when your midfield's game plan is to effectively cover ground for 90 minutes.

The chance made between him and Ritchie not long before the goal shows exactly what we've been missing too. He should have cut it back like but I think he lost his footing a bit so attempted a shot from an impossible angle (which he can score from tbf).

How wasn't he? Him, Shelvey and Ritchie were everywhere. EDIT: This is the kind of game I'm fine with him playing in, even in the Premiership he can do this kind of job. Doesn't stop running, niggles and annoys the opposition and pretty much never gives the ball away.

I think Brighton have got better players individually, but Huddersfield are a stronger team collectively. They are pretty relentless, a lesser team than us would have crumbled I think. We allowed them to have the ball like, they did nothing with it. In contrast, Brighton owned the ball until they scored against us and they had more chances in those 15 minutes than Huddersfield did all game today Aye, it's not really a fair comparison tbh. Brighton were far better though in that 20 or so minutes, they threatened to carve us open a couple of times. Huddersfield played the majority of this game 2 down.

Brown and Kachunga are on loan too, he's done really well in the loan market tbf Wagner, that Brown looked really handy today.

They had 76% possession because we let them, not because we couldn't get the ball off them. For about 5 minutes after the penalty it looked shaky, they had their tails up and although they never created anything you could sense that they might bundle one in or win anther penalty/dangerous free kick. But outside of that they created absolutely fuck all.
