  1. Who called/calls Ba selfish for shooting from distance though? Is it not the same people who call Ben Arfa selfish for shooting from distance too?
  2. I don't think Cabaye cares. I think he would've been more upset that his form wasn't the best. He achieved what he set out to do at Newcastle, under Alan Pardew. Would you disagree with that? Under Pardew he finished 5th, 16th & left us in.. 6th was it? With Cabaye one of the main men. In his mind, i'm sure he considers his time with us (and Pardew) a personal success overall. I'm sure he'd be the main man in pretty much any side from Southampton and below though, I cannot see why, if given the choice, he'd join Alan Pardew over any other club. There were large periods here when people were suggesting he was shite, and than Danny Guthrie should take his place because of Pardew's style completely bypassing him. Pardew even dropped him at one point, and then took credit when he brought him back on the win us a game he should have already been playing. If it wasn't for us being so bad in the last year or so he was here, and relying so heavily on him and Remy to win games, I doubt he'd have even received the recognition he got.
  3. Brendan Rodgers didn't almost relegate Liverpool when Suarez was there if my memory serves me right.
  4. Proving yourself in the Premiership is hardly akin to finding your best form like. He was at the heart of a title winning Lille side the year before he joined us and he was starting to cement his place in the France side. But whatevs, the last manager he played under despite lying to him during negotiations, was Alan Pardew, so obviously he owes his career to him.
  5. To be fair TDC obviously watched every game he played during his 7 year Lille career, including his title and cup win. The lad knows what he's talking about, he told us Dummett would make a decent centre back once.
  6. If he goes to Palace he's got to be the thickest cunt on the planet. I'd hate to see him go to any Premiership team we either should be above or competing with though.
  7. Pretty telling that the lads who disagree with his sacking are the ones who say shit like "Derby are getting ahead of themselves" Aye Derby, get back in your box.
  8. Urgh, I really do think this is the worst case scenario. I doubt I can even get much enjoyment from hating McClaren tbh, he's nowhere near the arsehole Pardew is, or anywhere near as comically incompetent as Carver. I'm just likely going to be bored fucking silly.

    John Carver

what the fuck am I going on about man.
  10. If you subscribe to the idea that fans know their own club better than anyone else, then yes, he did. It depends who the fans are, we literally had half of our fan base beating the Alan Pardew drum up until last year. Howay man, not even the daftest of our lot would say we played good football under Pardew. We knew (and still know) the truth of what happened to the team under Pardew, why is it different for the Derby fans? I was just answering the question of whether or not I subscribe to the idea that fans know their own club better than anyone else, I do, if the fans in question aren't idiots If the general consensus from Derby fans is actually that he plays decent football then fair enough, I'll have to believe it when I see it though.

  12. Did he actually have them playing decent football like? I never saw them under him but I'm just struggling to imagine it
  13. I don't buy the players losing focus after we tried to poach him like, and if that was the case I certainly don't want a manager at the club who loses the dressing room the moment his name appears in the papers.
  14. This gives me a glimmer of hope that this whole thing will backfire on them and the fans won't give him/them any time.
  15. What a load of shit  we're just like one big really well done sketch. I can honestly hear Armando Iannucci narrating that line.
  16. McClaren has just been sacked by Derby County, although I don't think he'll be as desperate as Pardew was for a Premiership gig I'd be surprised if he turned us down. Vieira, although unproven, had every right to refuse a job that will restrict his ability to manage.
  17. People bringing their mates in to do jobs they're not qualified for is the whole reason we're in this mess. Carr can fuck off tbh.
  18. He's impossible to fire. He can't very well be instructed to fire himself. Gonna have Carver at the meeting like http://i.imgur.com/PGOprfb.jpg "Can you put Stoney on now?"
  19. That's a bit of a fallacy though as the best we can get is entirely dictated by what Mike Ashley/Charnley decide, considering they are the ones making the decisions. And what is best for the actual club is debatable (a bit like the whole 'do you want us to be relegated' argument). Steve McClaren is only being seen as the best we can hope for because he's the man they've decided they want, had it been a different man then they would be the best we could hope for etc, like KI said yesterday it's just a trick, we cannot fall for it.
  20. Don't understand this. When Carver would be sacked, of course we wouldn't appoint a great manager, we would appoint McClaren or someone of his ilk. As long as Ashley is here, we won't see an inspiring appointment, period. The longer Carver is in charge the more irate our fans will become, I mean we staged a highly successful boycott against the board a couple of months back because of how hilariously inept he is. We appoint McClaren and we're back to supporting the team not the regime, whatever the fuck that means.
  21. I'll never expect Mike to change, my only hope was that he accidentally hired someone who isn't the personification of boring, or he hired someone so hilariously incompetent that the fans would tell him to fuck off. Steve is the perfect middle ground though, the absolute worse case scenario. We'll finish 9th and people will be smugly telling me to fucking cheer up.
  22. We get McClaren and despite the fact we'll be going nowhere he'll be given time, all he needs to do is finish in the top 10 1 year for half of our lot to worship the ground he walks on - literally forever.
  23. I would prefer Carver over McClaren, I'm not even joking.
