I wonder if Steve Coogan will play him in the upcoming BBC drama.
-
I think people would be shocked at the lengths a gambling addict will go to ruin his own life like My best mate's a gambling addict and it's absolutely insane how little shame he had during his worst days. If Fagioli's his mate he could have grassed him up as a favour.
-
If he really is an addict it would be nieve to think he isn't atleast itching to text a mate to stick an accy on like You would hope that if he is addicted, this is rock bottom, and has caused something to click, but continuing to gamble even after being caught wouldn't be out of the ordinary.
-
Like we don't need to treat him with kid gloves, he's fucked us with his behaviour, but the best thing for both parties is to support him the best we can and get him ready for when his ban ends. He should want to repay the club and hopefully comes back all the better for it. As bad as the whole situation is, it's good he's been caught before things potentially spiral further out of hand, hopefully there's a bit of sense from the FA/ FIFA and they don't just ruin his entire career.
-
Which is completely fair enough, terminating his contract would be insane though
-
Well yeah if he is genuinely a gambling addict that's sort of the point. It's an annoying situation and Tonali bears responsibility for his actions, which I'm sure he's very aware of atm, but some of these comments just don't align with reality. Nobody in their right mind is going to open up to a potential employer about all of their darkest secrets, especially an addict. Treating him with vitriol is pointless at best. He's fucked up, it's cost us, we all move on.

Might just be me, but when going into a job interview I personally don't go out of my way to present myself as un-hireable.

It quite clearly is though

How is a footballer betting on football bringing the profession into disrepute? If there's no evidence of match fixing on their part then these claims are daft. He's broken the rules, but the rules are puritanical. He should be punished as the rules are clear like. There's just better ways to deal with it.
-
If he's bet on Milan to win then it's hardly crime of the century like Betting on taking a yellow and getting your mates to lump on it is completely different, and where big bans make sense. I said it before but they could easily set up a facility that allows players to fairly and transparently bet on football, it's almost a meme at this point that prohibition is completely counter productive.
-
I hope we stand him against a Ladbrokes and riddle his body with a Thompson machine gun.
-
Probably be giving it to the Lombardi Mafia.
-
Maybe instead of banning footballers from gambling they could set up clear and transparent ways they can bet. Given that there's apparently 50 (that they know of) shoving it underground doesn't seem to be working If he's bet on things which have influenced his own game then it's indefensible like.

I didn't quote it because the discussion was about us needing an attacking midfielder and being able to get away from the 4-3-3 (I think the stats backup that we don't need to do either). I'm not arguing that we cannot improve our midfield.
-
You can look at last seasons xG too though where we were 4th. We consistently create chances. We've had a few bumps this season but I don't think creativity has even been an issue in isolation. We were horrific in possession at City, Brighton was one of those games like at Villa Park where the opposition is excelent and we are poor, and the less said about Liverpool the better. Edit: Basically we've been outplayed in 2 games this season (Man City & Brighton away) and I don't think a player like Maddison helps us in either.
-
We have the highest xG in the league according to Understat. I get the issue is teams sitting back, but there aren't many who are going to do it better than West Ham at home and we still scored 2.
-
Is there any suggestion of Howe moving away from a 4-3-3? Willock and Big Jer being out is bad for it, as they're the attacking midfield side of the three, but when full fit and on form there's nothing wrong with our midfield. We get the ball into the box well and create a lot of chances.

Some cock on the lad.

Isak is a queen

I'm assuming he necer threw himself at it because doing so is how you get done if Kudus drops his shoulder It was a great strike with little backlift, Tonali has shown he's not scared to get stuck in.

He's much more comfortable on the right.
