Ronaldo is the kind of guy who really should be setting trends, not following them.

Ex scout Paul Montgomery appraises recent Newcastle signings.
Hanshithispantz replied to James's topic in Football
Strange, I was just thinking "boy, I wonder what ex-scout Paul Montgomery's opinion is on our French recruits", and here we have it, ex-scout Paul Montgomery's opinion on our French recruits. -
Since when does the 5 points we finished ahead of Wigan equate to the 4 we gained when he came back, we would had finished ahead of them still. Do some maths. From a purely mathematical point of view we were safe, Colo or no Colo. But had we lost against QPR, Wigan would have had something to play for in the final game. The odds are that we still would have been safe, mind.

I bet absolutely loads and loads of players have done that.

Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)
Hanshithispantz replied to a topic in Football
Great isn't it? practically every player who we have sold under this regime gets replaced with usually someone of equal or better quality. Might not happen straight away all the time but it happens, that is the least of my concerns with selling my players. My concern is whether we can sell Cabaye and get someone half as good to replace him. That isn't really replacing them then is it? I don't think that anyone would suggest that we sell players and then just flat out don't buy anyone at all ever to fill the gaps - which will ultimately lead to us having 0 players on our books and certain liquidation - but we've never shown that we are willing to pay the price needed get exactly what we want when we need it. EDIT: The Nees -
I'm guessing he got that appalling joke from the back of the wrapper too.

Cisse has proven himself to be very comfortable on the ball many times, his incredibly nonchalant nature leads to him occasionally gormlessly standing 40 yards off side, or over-under playing passes whilst under no pressure whatsoever, but this is only intensified when he's isolated up top and rarely involved in play. On his day he can link up play effectively and, ironically, played some of the best balls behind the defence any of our players played all season outside of Marveaux. You cannot just get tight to Cisse and take him out of a game, unless of course we start punting it towards his forehead in which case that's probably pretty effective.

Shearer is arguably the greatest premiership striker ever, he was a fucking machine in the mid-90s.

Well you're back to talking shit then, I apologise

Unbelievable's been making excellent points and its pretty much the stuff i've been saying for months. You've been saying stuff like "Darren Bent MKII" which is complete and utter shite.

What, have those cunts claimed that picture?

France and Marseille.

The extremely camp and in your face alter ego Dave uses when touring the pub and club circuit.

Strange tweet.

He's not a target man either like, hoof the ball to him and more often than not he'll lose out.
-
Unbelievable is actually making decent points about him recently, TCD still seems to be comparing him to world class strikers and completely negating the other parts of his game to nothing in the process. He isn't a bad footballer at all, and although I agree that he isn't worth keeping in the side if his current goal ratio remains the same it's complete nonsense to suggest that if he doesn't score he offers nothing to the side.

Ryan Taylor has the exact same belly as that kid in the belly/face swap picture.

It comes down to confidence and form, Cisse had none last year, Ba did. I didn't think he was rubbish by any means but he definitely wasn't playing to the best of his ability. The team being poor on the whole is a possible reason for that but a lot of the blame* obviously falls on Cisses' shoulders as well, on the flip side Ba was the star of the show and was putting away pretty much everything he touched, his confidence would have been sky high. * I hate using the word blame mind, and it's been the use of that by people that has probably irked some and led to some of the massive debates in this thread.

All Tulisa has proven there is that she has the worst patter ever.

5 in 18 in the league after Ba left. Still a very poor return like.
-
The last bit was obviously a joke but the first part is true. He didn't miss many clear cut chances, ones where he had to score.
-
He had a poor season but the myth about him fucking up loads of chances is just irritating, it got to the point where every fruitless shot at goal was met with "Cisse man!" and it seems to have stuck 2 of the best forwards in the world probably fluffed more clear cut chances against each other in the 2nd leg of the Madrid/Dortmund semi-final than Cisse did in half of a season. EDIT: He should have scored a few more mind, I don't disagree with that.
