Agree on the first team point but I don't think the likes of Perch, Taylor, Loven, Shola etc would get in many other top half teams so I would say the squad players are bottom 6 quality for the most part. There's no question the top top sides are underperforming though - and last season was the same with freak results all over the shop. Unless that's the new normal? Look at the squads of Stoke/Sunderland/Everton et al and then revise your post.

The thing is he was still been massively harsh on Ben Arfa in comparison to the rest of the squad when both Cabaye and Tiote were fit. People sitting behind him have confirmed that too.

We should really be exploiting that fact ourselves as we're at home. Pardew is literally the only manager in the world who would drom Ben Arfa for Ryan Taylor. It beggers belief.
