I'd say he's probably been doing light running over in France at the centre he goes to recover over there (Clairefontaine?) Next phase will be light training ball work and basic practice stuff then they'll up it practice matches as the last phase in the recovery.

Well said

Classless twatts all giving it the big'un in front of our bench too when they scored too. -
Big learning experience for him last night. It always takes players a little bit of adjustment to the speed of the game here when they arrive. Evra and Vidic struggled at first and Debuchy has been thrown straight into it to be fair.

Just looks completely knackered ffs

Chelsea are a bit of a mixed bag at the moment, you never really know which side will turn up. No Hazard, Luiz and potentially no Cech is decent start. They are there to be got at at the moment but a side that has,Terry, Lampard, Mata, Ramires and Ba who is bound to score will always be rock hard to beat. We need to fully go for them and try and catch them cold. Are they going to be up for the fight at the moment? Draw is possible. -

I'd prefer to see Obertan to be honest, that's how shit Jonas is at the moment. -

Is Cech back after his injury? I know he's out tonight -
Fair enough, I just see it differently.

I agree about the concerns over Pardew but how can you honestly say the players won't gain any confidence from that? We hadn't won away all season and this was an absolute must win 6 pointer. They won and we got 3 points at the end of the day. Just my opinion obviously.

Despite the pressure from Villa and our tactic of sitting too deep I was surprised that the Villa midfield got the better of our midfield. I guess Agbonlahor gave them more width and Wieman helped but I was still surprised Sissoko/Cabaye didn't get on the ball more. Jonas hurt us in the sense we could've done with someone who a) could keep the ball and b) had some pace to stretch the Villa defence and put them on the back foot. Marv/HBA should help more in these situations. I liked the look of Gouffran. I find it very frustrating the way we come out 2nd half though, it just hands the momentum to the other team and it's happening far, far too much.

HBA is the type of player for this match, shame he's going to miss it. Cabaye looks like anything he hits at the moment is going to go in so he's still a potential match winner and Sissoko's arrival completely changes the dynamics of the midfield now. Will be interesting to see the midfield battle in this. -
He looks really talent but he's only played 3 games in this league so he's still learning. I think all the new signings will be shocked at the pace of this league to be honest.

Chelsea have so much quality it's going to be really difficult and you know Ba is nailed on to score. That said they're a strange club at the moment, a bit hit and miss at times, definitely not unbeatable. I think we'll give them a proper match but we need to be positive and have a proper go at them. Hoping Marveaux comes back into the side for Jonas and Anita for Perch. The win against Villa takes a little bit of the pressure off this one. Would've been a hideous match to go into having lost. -
Watched in the Telegraph near the station......... 2nd half was heart attack football Pardew still seems incapable of a plan "B" and the players seems to immitate his lack of ideas and start hoofing it forwards. Shola is s**** end of...................kept screaming "keep the f***ing ball"!!!!!!!!!!! I don't understand why on so many occasions we come out 2nd half looking so relaxed- they must have known Villa were going to throw the kitchen sink at it. Substitutions were p*ss poor. Still it was a silly challenge from Debuchy that gave away the penalty and handed over the initiative. Irrespective of detailed analysis it's a HUGE win and we can move onto to Chelsea a little less under pressure. The new players will have had an idea of what the prem is all about now so the experience will count for a lot. 3 points...............

From the interview Pardew apparently gave to total sport about strikers and midfielders being easier to slot into a side if they're new signings I think Gouffran and Sissoko will start and Taylor in defence with Colo. That's the impression I get anyway and thats what Mick Lowes/Ando were saying. -
Yeah I think he's just been a bit burnt out. His positioning for the Reading equaliser was poor but to be fair if anything its his work going forward that often is lacking in the final 3rd. Ridiculous to put him in the same bracket as Williamson.
