  1. Too many excuses in there for me. A poor performance today and the type of result we're all expecting and the pressure will really be on.

O'Neill is a manager left in the dark ages and no amount of intellectual post match piss and wind can disguise that. For some reason the media never seem to cotton on to his limitations given that he's a media darling. His mangaerial reigns follow exactly the same pattern wherever he goes, it always peters out in the end..............

Just shows that 3-1 result last week was entirely because Fulham went down to 10 men. Absolute turd this side but then we're not much better at the moment.
  4. Needs to stop the rot and fast
  5. I think Pardew knows the fact he's on an 8yr contract is insignificant regarding a Chelsea-esque payout Pardew won't get a bigger club than this and Ashley won't fund the ambitions of other managers who'd fancy a shot at us. Pardew does need to wise up and quick on aspects of the team but lets be honest if he'd been given the funds to address key areas in the summer he wouldn't be quite in the position he's in now in terms of poor team form. You put Debuchy, a new centre half a new attacker into the squad and that's a massive improvement. Sure he deserves criticism for the top 4 comments nonsense but he's obviously not going to come out and say "my squad is s***" is he. I'd hedge my bets he knows exactly where our limitations are but he's hamstrung to a certain extent by a bloke whose transfer kitty is what he finds down behind the sofa on a sunday night.
  6. People were wanking off over Pardew last year and now they're slaughtering him. Sure he deserves criticism for his flawes and needs to address things like the formation/attitude or whatever is going wrong this season. There's nothing wrong with having a go but some of the stuff bordering on "Pardew out" is ridiculous He's staying, nobody else will work under this regime so you might as well stop thinking about wholesale changes.
  7. He must look back and think "WTF happened" having gone from banging in goals for his boyhood club in front of the Gallowgate to pretty much mediocrity.
  8. The fact that we're still relying on him in central defence makes a complete mockery of the ambition of the board. It's one of the single biggest indicators that they're just not interested in genuine progression indicative of an ex casino owner spouting football nonsense about "purple players" ad nausem
  9. They freed up 60k per week from Alan Smith, got rid of Best, Lovenkrands, others that don't spring to mind right now. This article while not the best and has an angle on Pardew being in a difficult situation does raise some valid points: http://thepremierleagueowl.com/alan-pardew-being-hamstrung-by-financial-black-hole-at-newcastle/
  10. As someone has pointed out in this thread already 15m well spent in key areas could've cemented a top 6 place. 15m ffs
  11. Williamson is so painfully out of his depth at this level it's not even funny. And this is what annoys me about Pardew, he's constantly banging on about what a strong squad/team we have when its plain to see all the glaring weaknesses we have ffs. I'm not nearly as pessimistic about Pardew as many on here and I think we have to step back and take a look at the bigger picture. Look where we were and where we've got too. Last season was fantastic but we over achieved really and this season is a bit of a reality check. My biggest worry with Pardew currently is he doesn't look like he knows how to change or freshen things up. We're totally flat and devoid of ideas. The real litmus test for me is this Jan and next summer regarding player recruitment. If we don't bring anyone in in January and we have another summer like last summer then I'm afraid I'll quickly lose interest as it'll be obvious that the board have zero intention of pushing us forward and Pardews patter won't change my mind over any of that.
  12. Needs to be played, can't do any worse than the likes of Obertan or Sammy today ffs
  13. Running north east harrier league cross country so can't go but might try and catch the 2nd half on dodgy channel at a pub town somewhere after
  14. He's wasted completely on the wing coming from deep in a 442 unless of course you have so much creativity elsewhere that a team can't afford to double up on him with. We ofcourse only have HBA as an attacking threat.
  15. We've been shite, the formation has looked all over the shop and they need to turn in a proper display on saturday whatever the team is re injuries. No fucking about this weekend..........but as someone said above if we turn in another 'ammers performance (god forbid we lose) questions will have to asked.
  16. Massive over-reliance on him and he's coming from far too deep at the moment. Frustrating (this situation not because he's playing badly)
  17. Skirge, ofcourse it's ridiculous that we still don't have video replay for incidents like this but we just have to deal with it. Because we don't have the option for review it wasn't this decision which changed the game. Our play going forward was atrocious the whole match, that's what cost us in the end.
  18. Most of the stale symptoms of the team at present are down to lack of investment in the team in summer from "Dekka" and Ashley. We did wonders to finish 5th but they took a chance and hoped we replicate that kind of form this season. So far this "approach" has proved completely fool hardy. We had a chance to kick on and didn't take it.
  19. Looked nothing more than an average player to me. I'm not even fussed about the lad anymore............he had it all here playing in front of the Gallowgate in the number 9 shirt but for £££ and other reasons he's lost that and he may live to regret it for the rest of his playing career.
