  1. Whose words? Or is that the reason we managed to acquire such a "highly talented" footballer because he's actually rubbish?
  2. Santon left side of midfield is a good shout. I've read he's played there before and likes to attack. Plus he's quick and would offer great cover for Raylor against the likes of Sturridge so that would be my choice right now.
  3. A side that can field, Terry, Mata, Drogba, Sturridge, Lampard or maybe even Torries (yes don't laugh) will always be bloody dangerous even if they're not firing on all cylinders. Make no mistake we'll have to be at our absolute best to beat this lot.
  4. Worst of all nobody saw it coming as is often the case and he was only on Football Focus yesterday and seemed fine. So sad, terrible for his family.
  5. A slow John Terry with an unreliable Luiz next to him isn't too much of a worry imo. Terry needs someone quick and reliable next to him thesedays. He's hardly shite but we can expose him with our pace.
  6. A return to fitness/sharpness was always going to take him a while but I think we're starting to see the signs now.
  7. The nature of the beast in football is that the clubs with loads of money will always look to poach quality players and massively increased salaries are always going to be a temptation for players too. It would be stupid to sell any key player in January because we've seen the effects before. The problem is Ashley is a business man not a football man and will always think of the £££££££ first. Tiote is clearly the most likely to go but the one thing working in our favour is the team is riding high playing great and there seems to be a fantastic spirit at the club. After Chelsea there are a run of games where we can pick up more points and continue to cement out top four place. Chelsea meanwhile could be out of the Champions league and don't look like turning the corner just yet. The dynamics of whether Ashley would simply force a transfer aside, would Tiote want to move there if an offer came in in Jan?
  8. I remember that While he didn't have a barnstormer it's great watching him create space and move play around. With Tiote coming back Cabaye will be able to get more involved in attack and I think these two will knock up some awesome stuff together.
  9. What is more ridiculous is the Man Utd players reactions if a ref dares to give a decision against them Fuck off
  10. Think people are getting a bit carried away with the "match day emotions" Sure it was a bit wreckless but it wasn't that bad.
  11. Yeah I think Sammy is ideal in that sub role with 20 mins to go or whatever.
  12. From what I've read from various sources he's been training but wasn't quite ready for a full match. You'd think he'd be ready for Chelsea but knee/ligament injuries are complex and you can't go into matches with even slight questionmarks.
  13. In fact seeing that burst from Ben Arfa again which led to the penalty controversy is exactly the type of thing made for Chelsea/Luiz and the nervy defence in the area
  14. I don't get the negative comments I read about Obertan, sure he was a bit rusty yesterday but his pace really worries teams and he was looking good before this match. He'll be ideal playing against a nevery Chelsea defence which plays a high line. The likes of Obertan, Ba, Ben Arfa, Cabaye can really capitalise on Chelsea's defence in this match imo. David Luiz is all over the place as a defender at the moment and it does nothing to help John Terry.
  15. His turn of pace and control which led to the penalty shows why he should be in the starting 11 in most games. I don't see why Pardew can't deploy him on the left wing cutting in this weekend with Jonas out.
  16. Defo time to bring Santon in but I can see Pardew sticking with Raylor annoyingly. Be interesting to see what he does with Jonas out and really the best option would be to put Ben Arfa out there as others have said. Guthrie has done well but Tiote coming back would be a huge lift again. We can have these fuckers with a roaring atmosphere behind us. They're shaky at the back and the one benefit about them winning today is that he'll persist with Luiz at the back. Beating Wolves is temporary relief but facing Ben Arfa, Ba, Obertan, Cabaye, Best etc at St James is another matter.
  17. Looked a little rusty after his break but he was coming good before the toe injury. Think he did pretty well today in all honesty.
  18. Right off to said IRish pub to be flanked by a load of Mancs, see you on the other side!
  19. Don't shoot the messenger if in just under 10 mins he's not on the team sheet But that was the latest from the 5 live fella who is commentating on the match at Old Trafford. John Murray?
  20. This. It is bloody frustrating but if it means we have a full 11 for the games where we should win then so be it. Just the way the stresses in the league effect players. There will always be periods where we are struggling with absentees. I have a feeling sitting in the pub today I'm going to be in the minority and will have to take a result massively on the chin in front of a load of Cockney/Irish REds including my mate
  21. Injuries often take time and especially anything to do with ligaments. Even if he's been training in the week there's a difference between that and going into full battle against Man U at Old Trafford. Furthermore if you put someone into a match who isn't 100% you risk further injury. I see nothing odd about his absence other than pure disappointment.
