Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)
ExiledGeordie replied to a topic in Football
The French correspondent on talksport has just said now that he expects Cabaye expects to play tonight and that the tweak hasn't proved to be anything serious. -
anyone heard the latest on him?

Once this lad gets used to the pace of the premier league and properly finds his range he could be awesome. -
A striker (Maiga possibly) a good reliable centre half and another left/right back would make the squad so much stroner for the second half of the season. That's assuming we don't sell anyone too.
-
Well that is worst case scenario.

If no Marv, Cayabe and as expected no Obertan we could see Santon brought in in defence and Raylor moved to right side of midfield with Tiote and Guthrie in the middle. Atleast that's an option anyway.

This weekend is like the stuff dreams are made of

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll
ExiledGeordie replied to Pilko's topic in Football
If he was actually on the piss then it shows exactly why he'll never make it. What you have to remember there's going to be plenty of sensationalised comments circulating about him being "out on the lash". -
When Woodgate played for us in 2003 he had that composure of a truly quality centre half and people said he was the best centre half they'd seen play for the club. Do you think Colo has at the very least equalled that if not bettered?? Just looks so composed.

Talk about wild speculation on supposed tension Even if there is it's a perfectly natural part of a football team ffs

Says 4 yrs at just above his current 55k a week with a slight reduction in the fifth year. I thought he was on 75k a week or something daft at the moment, maybe I've got that totally wrong though.

Yeah he went over and talked to Pardew about it at one point and was then chatting to Steven Taylor I think. Fingers crossed it's nothing serious. -
Well true I'm not that naive I suppose

Spot on. I thought he did the job he was wasked, unspectacular but effective. He was fouled for a free kick in his own half from what I remember and lost the ball once off the back of a decent run near their area and from a good tackle. Apart from that he kept the ball, kept passes simple and used space well to run the clock down. Classic case of a player who people either build up far too much or are ready to knock down far too quickly...... Remember DOUBLE LEG BREAK...the physical and mental recovery needed from that should never be underplayed.

If you take the recent speculation with Liverpool I can't see for the life of me why he'd opt for Liverpool over us at the moment if for the sake of argument Liverpool came in with an offer in Jan as was recently speculated (probably wildly). It could be a strange atmosphere developing at Anfield over the next few months if their results continue as they are.

No pressure to get anything, go there and have a go at them.

Enjoying Collymore's phone in tonight

Henderson and Carroll awful today by all accounts. Henderson seems to me like an absolute disaster of a signing whereas Carroll will atleast get the odd goal even if its not really happening for him there.
-
He also predicted Pool would win 3-0  What a perfect saturday

Wrote this in the match thread, he'll say something like........ "Was a tight affair and I thought Newcastle were a bit fortunate to be honest" Not we defended well, the midfield performed given the injuries and Raylor's strike was a match winner that's for sure. And then when we most probably lose at Citeh he'll say "well I predicted they might struggle at City and come unstuck and I was proved right. They just lack that little bit of something" (where 99% of teams in the league will get turned over)

What Lawrenson going to say now the cunt?
