Think this win really ment alot more then 3 points, closer to CL spots etc. We've won both against manchester united and Chelsea now this season. We put up a quite a good fight against the other top sides aswell, bar tottenham away? We are really building something special here, and hope Pardew can keep this team rolling into next season with a few more additions and a cleanup of the last of the deadwood.

If we reach far in cups etc. us playing amongst 60 games next season isn't out of the order? Having 4 centrebacks capable and a versitile player to fill inn would be essential. And I do doubt a player would put their foot down for playing 40-45 odd competitive games during a season as a rotational part of 3. Allthough I don't really think douglas will be comming in, just a feeling. Think we will turn to someone cheap we haven't really heard that much about, and/or someone will problems with injuries who will come at a cut cost.

Would Aquilani be someone we could consider? Don't seem to be getting his contract at Milan, and Dalglish doesn't see anything in him. I for one think he is the kind of player we need. Somewhat box-to-box with great technique and an eye for a pass. Also loves those ghosting runs into the box.

I must admit, I'm generally excited about the summer transfer window, as they have found the weakspots in our squad a long time ago and we might see those holes beeing filled this time around. I know most people look upon him as a twat, but would Adel Taarabt be an option if QPR goes down? I'm quite sure he will want away if so and would be cheaper then usual somewhere between 5-8? The boy clearly got potential, but still seems abit raw. Playing both him and HBA might cause some trouble as both would want to "playmake" in that sort of sense.

What would people think of Håvard Nordtveit as tiotes replacement? The once Arsenal reserve captain is now at Mönchengladbach and doing extremely well according to reports playing in that defensive midfielder position. Allways was famous for beeing a ballplaying stopper he now plays a clean up guy in the german side. Everytime I've seen him for the norwegian national team I allways thought he was one of the better players. Composed, huge workrate and quite intelligent. And I really wouldn't mind all that if Kalou became Ba's replacement. If given alot of time on the pitch he easily scores 15 goals a season. Should have more cover upfront though if we go that 4-3-3 formation.

With the board we have now, we will never know what players we are looking at. However I'm more optimistic now then last year. And it proved to be a hell of a good one. What also is quite encouraging is that Pardew will still be here, there won't be change of personell because a new manager wants his acquisitions and so fourth. So we will build on what we have with a plan to go for. Also we got some wages beeing freed up with smith and loven definitely going. Hopefully, but doubting Xisco will go. This will make it possible to add a few new faces to the squad under the current regime without breaking the clubs policy and wage budget.

Wonder if Pardew and his crew are looking up Gökhan Töre from HSV, incredible dribbling skills on the former chelsea man. Only 19 and will get even better.

I die a little every time this happens. Always happens in our own box, we just head tamely to the outside of the box and usually to an opposition player. Its akin to Krul just pumping the ball down field or the Williamson donkey rocket, when they could pass it simply and keep possession, then even think about building an attack. This... Remember willo tried it, don't remember who it was against on the top of my head but everybody was screaming at him to hoof it as he was rather endangering the whole team to concede a chance against us.

I wouldn't want Siggurdson that much mainly because I want a quicker player in there, We aren't a team up for dilly dallying on the ball, we still play quite direct counter attacking footie with our forward line. We do keep it on the deck though. But as we saw against Bolton, when they don't commit forward and we don't get some obvious space to take advantage on we are pretty were quickly running out of ideas.
