  1. The elite is about 5 players. There's still world class players around the globe who just fall short of that bracket. Just got to look at Rooney stats and they tell it's own sotory, he makes goals and he scores goals. He can score all types of goals as well, he's a nightmare for defenders to deal with and if he stays fit going into the tournament, he's one of our biggest assets. No doubt about it.
  2. Sturridge isn't even a better striker than Rooney either. Put any formation you like but Rooney is still by far our greatest attacker. Ron had him ahead of Zlatan, that can't be an easy call
  3. I expected better than this from you. Go back to lurking.
  4. That doesn't make Sturridge world class though because of his form. Like when people were saying Suarez was in Messi/Ronaldo bracket on form? Form is temporary, it will come and go. Ronaldo on form is the best player in the world right now, but really you know Messi is the best in the world. Rooney for me is short of the elite but there's no doubt he's still world class. He's actually not even fulfilled his early potential but he's still one heck of player which would get in most sides in the world and the fact people want him dropped from the National side is baffling. If we had a queue of quality players lined up waiting to take his place, it might seem logical to try something different. As it stands, he's just proven in qualifying how valuable he is by pretty much doubling what any other player scored in the side. Rooney or Welbeck/Rodriquez/Lambert/Defoe/PC (for Pilko), it’s a no brainer.
  5. Basically this. I mean he's our only world class attacking option ffs. If we had a Higuain banging on the door for a start or a Tevez, i'd be all for looking for something different. Instead we have Danny Welbeck and Jay Rodriquez.
  6. You qualify for these tournaments with Rooney's goals, i think that 'matters'. He was top scorer in our group which has led us to the World Cup, so we now drop him? It's outrageous, it really is
  7. That top point doesn't make any sense. You're right, but it has no relevance to dropping him for Sterling/Welbeck/Sturridge when Rooney is levels above all three. You said Rooney hasn't done anything of note for England and i basically pointed out he's on his way to be England's all time leading goalscorer. You're basically blaming England's past failings on Rooney because he hasn't delivered, so he should dropped? If that was the case Gerrard wouldn't play again let alone be captain. Outrageous to even consider the thought of dropping Rooney for a major tournament, especially when we are hardly overloaded with talent in the striking department.

  9. Only around 10 behind England's all time leading goalscorer? Which you would probably fancy him to get given there's a fair few years in him yet, unless you're in charge and have him dropped of course.
  10. I'm now starting to get behind the thinking that he shouldn't be starting for England at the World Cup. You should just stop thinking if that's the case. We don't have many world class players, so let's just not start our stand out one, makes sense
  11. He's that annoying guy in the pub who preaches 'common sense' and somehow he's got the job. Being a bit OTT he's not been disasterous (as I presumed he might be) but how do you get so arrogant and bullish about how you've done so soon in a job you're lucky to have It was that 'arrogant and bullish' attitude that got him the job in the first place?
  12. You seem to have a thing for cuntish managers I must have. Sherwood such a bang average player, no managerial credentials to his name...yet talked his way into the job and has now decided to slate half his players, mentalist. Bet he was f***ing nuts on a game of chicken! Every interview I've seen him do though he basically calls it like a fan would have seen it, doesn't mess around or beat around the bush. Remember early on when they comfortably beat Swansea and basically said he was never bothered with Swansea, they pass around nicely with no intention to score a goal and all his team had to do was counter quickly to create chances. He was bang on but usually a manager doesn't criticise the opposition like that. He's horribly out of his depth but I find it hilarious rather than hating the c***
  13. Credit to Wigan. Deserved that. Pleased for Perchy, always give it his all for us.

    La Liga 14/15

Looking forward to Valencia/Bilbao tonight, should be a canny game. 0-0 now I've said that
  15. Sherwood is awesome. I like him more and more everytime i hear his interviews, proper ballsy bastard!
  16. Poyet has cost them this match through lack of faith and ambition. Cattermole will take the abuse but soon as the team selection was made, Poyet wasn't 110 percent committed to the cause. Very very poor. Hull were there for the taken.
  17. Check if he's got an English grandmother. See how they like it. He has about twenty caps
  18. Terry/Cahill have been by far and away the best partnership in the league. Can't believe how many people neglected them in their team of the season so far. Been superb.
  19. This Would you f***, man. You would know, Hans, obvs!
  20. I wouldn't have Allardyce, Pulis, Hughton, Monk. The rest, I wouldn't be overly fussed if Pardew left for them. Obviously there's still a few that would concern you now but they aren't an embarrassing appointment.
