I personally find this amazing.. You really dont care about openly fascist views being given a platform by a high profile manager within the PL? You really dont care that an openly racist viewpoint will potentially now be given some credence and time? Have we sunk so far, become so de-politacized as a society that a "blind eye" can be turned to these vile, pernicious and abhorent views? I know its sport, and for many the two shouldnt mix. I disagree, I remember the same arguements around sport and the openly racist South Africa during the apartheid years. The apeasers and apologists making the same noises... Its a sad day for sport that this man is allowed anywhere near our national game. Yes its the mackems, but some things are actually more important than football,,this is one of em. I wonder if any of the elderly population, who fought against fascism in the 30s and 40s are laughing? We should actually be uniting with any of their support who are rightly disgusted at this appointment by showing some solidarity with them. I see there was actually an Anti Fascist Action event on in Wearside this weekend...ironic. Take a chill pill man FFS. It doesn't matter whether he's pink, green, fascist, communist, Mormon, Taliban or Fenian, all that matters is he makes a right hash of managing them and gets them relegated. Aye it does though. Was reading the Celtic forum and they seem deeply divided about Di Canio. Guess it could go either way. And they have it right. DiCanio's got a volatile image. Always going to rile more than he gets adherents I was delighted with his appointment from a purely selfish view as a Newcastle fan. But the OTT response and soap box ranting has amazed me. thankfully, some have been doing the p*ss taking route and slowly that'll take over from the strutting orator types. I think it speaks volumes that despite our position Pardew hasn't lost the dressing room. Agreed, but it has only been one season. Start next season in the same way and it could be a different story.

It would be nice if we could be patient, but can we really afford to? I know most of our players are on long contracts but if we're as shit next season as this season I'm sure some will be itching for a move, particularly the international players. In an ideal world we could say "no you're under contract" but unfortunately that's not how it seems to work these days.

So that if anyone tries to steal him they have to pay us loads for him. Sounds daft now but it was drawn up straight after he'd won manager of the year and guided us to fifth. If it's true that Pardew gets one years payoff if he's sacked, then what was the point in giving him an 8 year contract? It doesn't provide stability if he is just as liable to be sacked as if he had a shorter contract. In fact, if he had a shorter contract he probably would've had the whole lot paid off if he was sacked, making it more expensive to do so than currently.

Eh? Managers are important and Pardew has been at fault many times this season but he's not the one playing. I can't criticise Pardew for the performances that Cabaye, Anita and Obertan among others put out today. Then what on earth is he being paid for?

Sucks all the fun out of football. I'd love to see us in an entertaining game now and then. The 7-3 against Arsenal was quite entertaining

Aye, we've been absolute shit. Aye, none of us have been under any illusions that we're crap, but the late winners had papered over the cracks temporarily. Fuck knows where we go from here, is there any point sacking Pardew knowing fine well they'll get another DUD. in. Regardless of how much we sucked today, that decision was the reason we lost today. We put them under plenty of pressure despite being shit. We've had our fair share of luck in recent weeks, so we really have little right to complain that something went against us this time. We shouldn't have needed any luck to get that decision, it was clear as day
