I honestly can't remember his post-match interviews for us that well. I never warmed to the guy then, not only because of our results and play but his character. This season and the tail end of last season have pretty much highlighted him as the most bitter, pathetic, out-of-touch loser in the PL. Get to fuck old man

I think he's better at crossing than Gutierrez and will only improve at it. I don't know enough about Santon's history at RB over LB but I'm more than happy with him at LB right now. I do believe we need another top fullback though as Danny Simpson looks scared too often when the ball's at his feet

This season has been very strange. Our spirit is obviously incredible and how motivated all the players are, Pardew deserves enormous credit for this. What I don't understand is how we've managed to get 42 points. I'm sure many will disagree but I don't think our general standard of play deserves that many points. I thought pre-season we could get to 7th-8th with the players we had but I'm amazed that we made it to joint 4th earlier on today, when Cisse scored, it's the happiest I've been as a supporter in years. But like HTT has brought up a few times, we can definitely play much better with the players we have. I still don't feel like there is a forward system to the team whilst I definitely think we have a very detailed defensive system. If getting the defensive system right first is the plan then working on making us a better footballing team then I'm all behind the work that's been done so far. If we could average out our standard of play from every game we've played this season and then apply that average to the rest of the season, I think we'd slip out of the top 7. I recognise that may not make sense but that's my opinion anyway. I guess I'm just trying to say, much like HTT, we can fashion a system out of the players we have where we can really dominate teams and not rely so much on brilliant work from Ba and Cisse. Too many times I've felt that we've not controlled games but come away with points, again, the players and Pardew deserve massive credit but we can push on from here, we really can do something special with the talent in our team. I don't know what point I'm making here and this is far too long. Good night

Thanks for this Wullie, I'm past getting pissed off about people expecting too much of him now and thinking he needs to be dropped. It's just disappointing that people never look at things in longer terms. The lad is bursting with talent and is the most exciting player we have, yes he needs to fit more into the team but how do we pull that off without him in it? The lad can't do much wrong for me because his style of play is exactly what we need

Worry about Aston Villa's pace against Williamson. I have never really been a big fan of Williamson but he can definitely hold his own in the air, not bad positionally and is strong but if N'zog, agbonlahor, bent make some runs, he could well get done

Simpson is an average defender but he can defend. He is not a top 10 PL player but he is a PL player. Shola for me has never been a PL player, people talk about right now as if Shola is going through a bad spot of form. For me, he's always been very poor. Raylor at LB was atrocious defensively, he got found out really quickly but I think he's a decent bench option.
