    Joelinton

Clark made Joelinton the midfielder for sure. Maybe the fwo points lost was worth it in the long run.

    Joelinton

    Aye, was against Norwich.

    Joelinton

It happened more by chance. Clark was sent off and he moved Joelinton deeper to cover being one man down. The rest they say is history.
  4. Bigi will do well countering the opposition winger.
  5. Feels great that we now have positive problems like squad selection to think about. Just a few months ago, our first team was performing badly, and our options on the bench were dire.
  6. Any Brazilian GKs we can consider? Match the ones at Man City and Liverpool. Makes @Flip happy too.
  7. That Lunin at Real is supposed to be highly rated? Not sure if he is any good. Dubravka is 33. If we can get a young GK in who will be here for the next decade or so, like Lloris/ Spurs, Buffon/ Juve, it would be amazing.
  8. I believe Howe is encouraging players to raise their game, that it's more of if you play well, you keep your place. This promotes competition and no one takes their place for granted. It may also be strategy that he can bring Bruno on to change things a bit against tired legs while allowing him to see the team movement from the bench.
  9. The grey seats were what caught my eyes too. Seeing that you are the sole tenants, is there any reason why they are not in the club colours of red and/or black?
  10. Despite his height, it was already evident from his medical photos that he lacks a strong physique. Comes as no surprise that he isn't someone to hold the line and bring others into play. That said, he's our only viable striker until the last few games. Hope he does well and contributes in other ways besides freeing ASM to play in his best position. If he can score 4 goals, it's already a considerable return on the investment.
  11. We needed that monumental kick up the arse.

    Kieran Trippier

Would love to see him become a manager when he retires.
  13. Not sure which games you find him strong and holding the ball well like.
  14. Like that he was enjoying the post-match adulation. It's clear that he relishes recognition for his performances and that can only serve to motivate him.
  15. He's a passionate lad and I wish him well. We couldn't wait the years for him to develop into the player he is today. With the new era, we will sign better strikers in the summer and beyond. Best of luck to him and us.
  16. Also helps that our players are now more fluid and making options for passes. We were static in previous games and often ASM had to create his own opportunities due to lack of passing lanes. Supporters also have to recognise that dribbling is by far his key value, and drawing defenders away will create more space for his teammates.

    Joelinton

It's great that we see the likes of Trippier, Joelinton, Lascelles and ASM challenging the decisions. This was missing previously, and the team was meek in their words and surrendered performances. Appreciate the nasty streak that we now have, will go a long way towards survival.
  18. I thought our 39% possession stat was odd like.
  19. With the benefit of hindsight, he got the gameplay right and secured the win despite not starting Bruno. In a way, it also sends a message to the players that if you play well, you retain your match day place. The last few minutes given to Bruno also allowed SJP to celebrate his entry, while at the same time gives a teaser to the team that they can step up a level more, the best is yet to be come.
