Motherwell 2 - 4 Newcastle United (FT) Post game euphoria from pg 19
LRD replied to bowlingcrofty's topic in Football
Not too particularly arsed about the result here, it's only a friendly. I just hope they will be able to use pre-season to work out something resembling a team. It would be ridiculous if there's a lack of understanding on-pitch come regular season again. -

I read it as Moyes saying he sees Rooney more in a withdrawn role behind RvP, and that he'll only have the lone striker role if RvP is unavailable. Which makes perfect sense. RvP is arguably the best player upfront in the league. Can only see it as an issue if Rooney is insistent on that particular position.

What a pathetically small-time attitude. You can argue about him, form/injuries/style of play etc, but not one NUFC fan can defend comments like that. How pathetic, man. Wouldn't be too sure about that.

You're probably right. Just saw this from their online shop. http://arsenaldirect.arsenal.com/content/ebiz/afc/stry/hp004/240x170_homekit.jpg

Only Arsenal and us left to officially reveal home kits. Nike's doing a good job hiding Arsenal's home kit with no leaks so far.

We don't know that they actually have been quoted a straight 25m for Benteke. I was going by the widely reported figure in the media. 25m is a huge sum, I'll be amazed if you get more than that for him including a Lukaku loan. Pretty much a no-brainer if that happens.
-
Why would they offer that when they have been quoted a straight 25m for Benteke? Given that Ba might be off, Torres being Torres, with no striker of pedigree coming in and Mourinho quotes on giving Lukaku a chance too.
-
Gotta be interesting dissecting those comments.

He has for France. Dunno about Toulouse though. Personal view that he doesn't belong to the wing.

Have you ever seen someone with the mantle 'Don't believe what Pardew says, it's all media talk unless it fits my agenda'? I have. I don't know what that means. Mirror on the wall will tell you all you need to know.

Who manages the players, Alan? Is it really that simple? For Pardew? Yes, it's a simple and convenient excuse. By saying an excuse you are basically saying low confidence wasn't a factor? Correct? Yes it's Pardew's job to raise confidence and ultimately he failed to do this, sometimes though confidence isn't such an easy thing to gather no matter hwo good your man-managment skills are. Confidence is a major factor in football yet you shrug it off like it means nothing and it's a petty excuse. Moyes had seasons at Everton where he struggled with team confidence and they slumped to tame league finishes, he's now in charge of the biggest club in the land. Of course confidence was a factor. How else do you think I find his words laughable? When I said excuse, I meant it in the way he tries to push a bit of everything into someone else. The biggest problem is never himself. You could blame Ashley for not backing him in the market but the last I knew, the manager is in charge of getting the best out of his players, which Pardew has failed miserably. The lack of confidence and subsequent inability to raise them originated from his own limitations. That squad should never finish 16th. You know if he gets sacked, he will blame everyone except himself. As far as things go atm though, I would prefer him to stay and hopefully make the most out of it. The potential alternatives are frightening.

You get an extra £20-40 million from the improved tv deal alone. That's how those 'lesser' clubs are spending their way so far.

Might be your hero's last season so I'm guessing you're getting one with his name and number? (Maybe you do that every season.)

Apparently that in-house Roma kit is made by asics.
-
Unfortunate. Never really fit with Spurs plans I guess. He'll do the business somewhere else. Apparently getting rid of Adebayor too. They seriously need the striker they have been looking for ages.

The same money Everton spent on 2 players for 10m?

One year left on contract too.
