  1. It's 2013, not 1913. Players can wear specialist closting under the normal kit so they don't have to get cold. Also, Santon was injured while training in Italy where the temperature is warmer than here. We're not the only 'cold weather club' in England either.
  2. Is that a nazi reference? too far? seriously though--you see something like that your conscience should pang you into action & raise the damn flag! Maybe a tad too far. I agree with the sentiment though. It's worse than just a poor piece on linesmaning if he was thinking something like: "Oh, it looks like that french guy just had his kneecap shattered, but the ref told me just to deal with offsides so I won't bother raising my flag, he'll just have to writhe around in agony for a bit." And going off the view he had of the incident, and the way he seemed to nervously look towards the ref shortly aftewards, as if waiting for a whistle, it's not an unreasonable interpretation of events. Both Halsey and Wilkes equally culpable here. Linesman had a clear view yet chose to do nothing. Halsey's view was partially blocked but he didn't even have the sense to consult his linesman after seeing the coming together and the subsequent cries and injuries of Haidara.
  3. My first thought. Still remember the goalie kit with a black puma logo that received such negative feedback, they changed it to a white one on release. http://www.nufcblog.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/kitgk2011-2012.jpg http://www.nufc.co.uk/javaImages/ca/ab/0,,10278~10267594,00.jpg
  4. Likely so, but I'll take a speedy recovery for Haidara over anything else.
  5. Will be amazing if he avoids ligament injury and long-term complications. Says it all when a week back we will support a Wigan win over QPR, now it will no longer be the case.
  6. Haidara > Tiote if that happens.
  7. Maybe Woy thinks Taylor is a midfielder too.
  8. The lack of action from the FA might just work to punish Wigan than had they received a standard 3-match ban. With a ban, they can move on and focus on the FA Cup and their relegation dogfight, the talk will ease on them sooner rather than later. Instead they are finding themselves under the spotlight with getting away scot-free and Whelan's trash talk. The longer media and fan pressure on them, the more it can potentially harm them. I can only hope karma works out this way.
  9. 1 goal in 7 matches for Stoke so far. On target to meet the expectations of thread poll.
  10. I do think Martinez will leave him out for the next 3 matches against Norwich, QPR and Millwall. He will melt under the intense pressure. Will be ironic if he leaves him out though. Might as well take the 3 match ban and be done with.
  11. that will be worse tham simply taking his punishment, It will follow him his whole career, whereas it would have been done and dusted in three games. He could find himself in a worse scenario if reports of him being mentally-weak are true. Whelan has dug an even deeper grave for him with those provocative (and petty anti-Ashley) remarks when he could have done much better. That senile old fool isn't helping his player.
  12. Doubt he will come out to contradict his chairman's comments. In the same way I don't think there will be any official apology. Martinez will probably rest him for a few matches since the attention is on his player atm and those are crucial games (cup SFs, relegation headers) ahead. Hope the thug gets all the abuse he deserves if he does step into the pitch. Fans of the other clubs will surely look to milk the heat in those games. Just imagine Millwall fans hurling abuse to unsettle him. He will have to live with the curse of being unpunished for a long time. Edit: Really hope they get relegated this season before the big money TV deal comes in. They will find it doubly hard to come back up when the other PL clubs are armed with those riches from next season.
  13. How do you know for sure we are one of the clubs to vote as so? It only takes a majority vote for those incompetent fools to keep the status quo from last season. Fwiw there's the 'special' cases rule that those dinosaurs could apply, yet they chose not to. They had also shown a lack of consistency and contradiction regarding re-refereeing (red cards appeal process) and the Ben Thatcher retrospective ban. Laughable that the English game falls behind the so-called lesser leagues such as Ligue 1 in this aspect.
  14. Blackburn fully adopting the concept of interim manager.
  15. Could well have strong implications for Barca and La Masia.
  16. Chances he will take to punditry? It could well be we see more of him than when he was playing.
  17. Reality must have hit him like a horse when he realised he can't get games ahead of Crouch and Jones at Stoke.
  18. Still can't find footage of that.

    Ryan Taylor

    Scouse/ex-Wigan cunt!
  20. Well deserved. Hope he gets the cap befitting his performances. He must be loving the feel atm.

    Dogawful Officiating

And guess what, Poll took personal responsibility for the error and retired from international matches after that. He ended his PL ref career a year later. Time to set an example yourself, Halsey.
  22. Like the idea of Whelan kissing Mrs Bimpy's arse.
  23. I like the Fifth Official http://espnfc.com/columns/story/_/id/1379547/the-fifth-official?cc=5739 Would love that to happen. Round 1 - McManaman Round 2 - that Barrow guy Round 3 - Martinez Round 4 - Dave Whelan (Mike Ashley can take this round if he desires) Reckon Carver will win them all too.
  24. Made an assist. Had a goal-scoring run prior to the PSG match. Think he's attracting too much attention from other clubs that a transfer to us seems unlikely. In all fairness, thought that Yanga-Mbiwa would move to some big name clubs but by some miracle he came here. I hold out the faintest hope that PEA will make a similar switch here. Will be an orgasmic transfer if it does happen.
