Woah! When was the last time we had a run of a transfer a day? Wth is happening?!
-
Even more depressing than under McLeish? That takes some effort. You're a good lad, brummie. Hope we make full advantage of your cup exit when we meet though.
-
If that's the problem, it can be easily solved.
-
Would think that it makes more sense he has signed on the pre-contract, just a matter of whether we can negotiate a January transfer which means him signing on a new immediate transfer paper and tearing the old one up.

Reckon he'll be the more defensive of the two since Debuchy likes to roam forward (and is more effective in the final third) and Mbiwa can cover for him. Colo will also have more license to go forward too knowing there's a reliable partner at the back.
-
Oh, and 2 Thurams.
-
Love players who can read the game well and are masters in the art of intercepting the ball. Imagine a Mbiwa-Colo partnership mopping up balls all day long, opposition nary having a sniff at goal. Really looking forward to seeing this lad play.

Debuchy Mbiwa Colo Santon Years down the line we can look back and say we have seen one of the best Newcastle defence ever.
-
If it was between him now and PEA in the summer, I will take the latter option with more pace and width. Doubt we will sign both,
-
Santon has been in mainly good form this season, one of those few who can hold their heads high. Not saying that there isn't competition for places involved, but this signing will serve the purpose of giving him much needed rest. He has started almost every game and has looked jaded recently. Of course it's good having another option at LB. It's something we've been crying our for years.

Brooklyn Beckham > Milan Pique tbh.
-
Don't give Ashley ideas. He'll fix the words to Sports Direct United.
-
Me neither, I've lost track of which thread is which. Should have an incoming transfers thread just for the next few days.

'The Winking Wolf'

No idea. Feeling cautiously optimistic though.
-
Presumably so. They had previous with Robinho, Ibrahimovic and Shevchenko where they knew they firmly had the ball in their court. Those guys are good at negotiating.
-
Whenever i see his name now all i can read is your put down We are finally seeing some movement regarding transfers, Ikon will be more relieved and the stress and gloom will naturally go. All's well.

Aye? 5 Players from the french league? Not really got a clue about french football myself, barely heard of any of the linked players.... Someone do a football manager style post for where they would fit in the team. Krul Debuchy Mbiwa Williamson Haidara Obertan Sissoko Cabaye Gouffran Cisse Shola

Much bigger difference than we thought. Still think we'll be able to make it a goer though.

On the subject of corners, it is interesting to note the number of goals conceded from corners as well. (Data for last season, til April) Team Goals scored from corners Goals conceded from corners Aggregate goals from corners Man City 12 2 +10 West Brom 6 1 +5 Man Utd 7 3 +4 Norwich 7 3 +4 Chelsea 4 0 +4 Everton 5 2 +3 Sunderland 4 1 +3 Wolves 6 5 +1 Tottenham 5 4 +1 Blackburn 8 8 0 Stoke 4 5 -1 Arsenal 3 4 -1 Liverpool 5 7 -2 Fulham 3 5 -2 Newcastle 1 3 -2 QPR 3 6 -3 Swansea 3 6 -3 Wigan 3 6 -3 Bolton 3 10 -7 Aston Villa 0 11 -11 How many have we conceded so far this season? The two from Man U, Reading(?), Ba's derby o.g. springs to mind atm. Defensively we are wank from corners too.
-
Well arguably, but how many corners did it take? Obviously it's significant in terms of goal total, but it doesn't mean corners are a good way to score goals. Same way as you will argue the % of goals from open play scored from chances created (conversion rate). In fact, if we were to consider the effectiveness of corner goals, we will have to compare %conversion from corners against that from open play to have our verdict. Ultimately, those teams are creating enough chances/corners and converting them to account for a good % of their goals. The fact is even with a fair number of corners this season, we have massively disappointed.
-
1 or 2 goals from corners if you managed to score ten league goals is significant iyam. Using the average conversion and our current goal tally, it would have meant we would have scored an additional 4 corner goals this season so far.
