  1. Griezmann would be better You wish. Recently signed a 5.5 year contract. Release clause: EUR 30 mill.
  2. Incompetent Souness! He's a f***ing idiot, and Bernard confirms what we all have known for years. It's incredible that this club managed to appoint Souness, Kinnear and Gullitt..Who was the worst for them?
  3. I'm sorry didn't Villa just spend a small fortune on Bent ? Doesn't seem like a club which is to worried about their financial perfomance, more like a club where the owner is happy to help out. A club spending money doesn't mean that it has a sound economy. We bought Owen, but could we afford him? No.
  4. MA has done his fair share of mistakes, but he's growing on me. He did contribute to the relegation, but is now rectifying the situation. I was furious when he sacked CH, but right now it seems like the fat man was spot on appointing Pards. CH is a true gentlemen, but I think he would have struggled more than Pards considering our injury situation and the tough schedule we've been through. While we're getting our economy under control, our (for now) closest opponents in Villa and Everton are struggling. MA's big test however, will be this summer. If they spend the money wisely, our club could be serious contenders for an european spot next season. And nobody had those thoughts a season ago.

So if we get a decent offer in the summer, say £5-7 mill, should we sell him? I'm all for..still makes amateur mistakes, and even worse, he's paid handsomely for doing so..wanker

It's frustrating of course. But when asked, a manager would probably refer to assessments made when the injury was fresh /healing. It's only when a player returns to the club or the training field that a manager and medical team can estimate more precisely how long it will take before the player is fit. Accordingly some discrepancy may occur. Fucking De Jong, that cunt!!!!ARGH

I interpret Carroll's desire to stay as follows: "I want to be at the club, but only as long as I'm getting a pay rise. " In other words, he chose money before the club. If he really wanted to stay, he wouldn't have asked for a a better contract , because he knew that the club could not afford rejecting the bid AND simultaneously give him a good pay rise. Imo his contract request could have been the final factor that tilted the board in favor of selling him. He should have kept his mouth shut until this summer. And if he he continued his development through this season, then he rightly could have demanded a better contract.

We've made some progress. We had solid wins against the obviously weaker opponents, which we didn't have under CH. Also, Pards has faced tougher opponents during his stints, and had top cope with more injuries than Ch. Some of the points dropped were very undeserving too. We have not the depth to replace the likes of Barton, so our results will suffer accordingly when he and the likes of Tiote are missing. Very little do with it. I think Pards has fared quite well. The points dropped against Tham and Sland, hinders him from landing in the "brilliantly" category I disagree with this, consider the win against West Ham - two wins against Wigan and Birmingham aren't that spectacular. Also consider that until recently (curiously), Hughton's wins against Aston Villa and Everton were considered 'strong teams'. Furthermore, consider the nature of this season, in which 19th placed Wolverhampton have beaten Manchester United and City, Arsenal and Chelsea - which teams are 'weaker' than us, or almost anyone for that matter? Finally, I also think we haven't picked up as many wins/points against 'better' teams that we would have done under Hughton, but take that for what you will... The claim Hughton didn't face many opponents that were deemed tough can't be justified. I also suspect the injuries are partly as a result of his training practices. Can't prove it, but we'll just have to see if this new 'bad luck' stays with us. First, we've been plagued with injuries for years now. Second, we do not have a big enough squad. The more games they play the bigger the chance of injures. Third, the victories against WH and Bham were very convincing. And we really deserved all three points against Burn away. That stands in contrast to CH had at home against obviously weaker opponents like Blackpool,. Uner him we also lost against Burn.

We cannot blame Pards for not picking up all points in the last two matches. The injury on Barton radically changed our winning chances. As previously mentioned. we have no sufficient depth to replace key players. And as that injury wasn't enough, both Ranger and Ireland missed out, players that we actually though would play a role against Everton. Contrast this to eg Lpool when they met Man U. The injury on Ferdinand and the Vidic suspension, increased their winning chances significantly. And even Man U doesn't have good enough players to replace them.

he's responsible for bringing tiote on in the cup That he was. Due to his previous success with WH in the cup, he probably wanted to repeat the story with us and therefore he used many key players in that game. This was a strategy I was not very fond of. I was more in line with CH: Survival first, and only mount a good team if we're closing in on the finals. But it was Tiote's choice to lunge into that tackle. Although he hit the ball, the injury potential was big if he missed it. Still Pardew should have avoided using him, Tiote's inexperience made him liable to perform such a tackle. If I had a choice between winning the Stevenage match and keeping Tiote the three matches that followed, I would have taken the latter option. Cup doesn't mean shit as long as we're not staying up.

  13. I dunno if I'm keen to use so much money on one players. We've failed miserably on our big transfers earlier, and if Gameiro doesn't deliver, we've probably used half of Carroll's money (including salary) on one player. But if he on the other hand bags 20 goals a season, 12 mill is peanuts.. I'd rather buy a good quality striker for 12 million than 4 strikers for 3 mio each. Of course, but the price we paid for HBA and Tiote shows that there need not to be a connection between price and quality. The fact that he does well in France, doesn't mean that he will do well in PL. I've already pointed out that £12 isn't a lot of money IF he delivers. But it's a lot of money if he flops
  14. If Enrique is injured, I really hope Pardew has guts to play with Ferguson. He's looked lively each time I've seen him. If he rises to the occasion this could save us some money too if Enrique wants to leave in the summer.

When? The only quotes I remember which were supposedly from him are: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/feb/01/andy-carroll-newcastle-liverpool "Derek [Llambias, Newcastle's managing director] asked me to hand in a transfer request, so I was pushed into a corner and had no choice," Carroll said. "I wasn't wanted by them and they made it clear they wanted the money. "Then I flew down in [owner Mike Ashley's] helicopter. I didn't want to leave. I'm gutted that I wasn't wanted at my home team after everything I have done and the progress I have made. "I didn't want to leave at all. Make sure they know I didn't want to leave. The players, staff and fans were fantastic." If he didn't want to leave, why the hell did he ask to get his contract renegotiated? I honestly believe that Carroll was given some bad advice from his agent. Originally Carroll probably wanted to stay, but then he was "advised" by his agent, who probably had good information about potential salary offer from Lpool. Also the agent had every economical incentive to unsettle Carroll, since selling him would result in a major payday for both. If Carroll really wanted to stay, he should not have asked for a renegotiation asap, but postponed the talk until the summer..On the other hand, NUFC was offered a huge amount of money. In hindsight, I cannot blame NUFC for selling him. If spent wisely, we could reinforce our squad significantly, which could make our next season a lot more exiting than if we had Carroll.

Agreed, I actually hoped that he didn't sign a new contract. He's probably on £40 000 a year. And he's s***. He's not worth the money compared to how often he's injured and what he delivers on the pitch..Yesterday was a f***ing disaster. Amateur errors. Source? Have read in multiple articles that his salary before signing the new deal was around £40 000. It's a disgrace if the new deal gives him more: http://www.football.co.uk/newcastle_united/steven_taylor_offered_another_new_deal_at_newcastle_rss1520978.shtml http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1334337/Steven-Taylor-offered-new-deal-Newcastle.html www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/.../Steven-Taylor-turned-down-Newcastle-s-last-gasp-bid-of-a-new-contract-offer-article567035.html

  19. Agreed! That was a tactical blunder by Pardew.

    Joey Barton

Fair prediction. Do you think we'll sell Jose in the summer or let him go on a free? I think we'll sell him. Imo LB is not the most difficult position to find a decent replacement. We're much more dependent on Barton. He's been out for 5 games now and if I remember correctly we've not won one game with him on the sidelines. Agree. Barton's been out for 6 games, though. No wins in those 6 and the two s*** performances against Bolton (a) and WBA (a). Six games? f*** me! Without Barton we have no distribution central. Finding a similar midfielder that is able to handle the knocks and tempo of PL without losing the ability to distribute balls is difficult and if we find him it is likely that he will cost a shitload of money. Together with Colo and Tiote, our most valuable player imo.

  22. I'm not sure that this King Kenny effect will last. To be brutally honest, they've met teams that fit them perfectly. And yesterday, Man U lacked their best central defenders. That surely affected their performance. Suarez and Kuyt will have struggled much more with ferdinand and vidic. Brown is mediocre, at best. So in other words, how strong the opponent is injury and suspension wise can have significant impact on the match outcome. Those margins have been seriously against us the last two games, with all our creative force gone. And we suffered accordingly. These margins may be distributed evenly during a whole season of course, but right now Kenny has just experienced just the upside. However, Lpools medical staff is probably more focused on injury prevention than ours. It seems like we're more occupied with healing than preventing injuries..
  23. True..With all our creativity gone, it's no wonder that we've had problems the last two games.
  24. Jumping on the bandwagon? Being an avid supporter since 92/93, I take your utterance as an insult. I'm not from England, but that doesn't make me shitty supporter. Jumping on the bandwagon often refers to people who starts to support a team because of success. And one thing NUFC has not experienced during my years, is success. I although agree that there are enough people who jumps on the Man-U bandwagon. Norway is stint with those fuckers. It's easy to be a supporter when you win minimum one trophy a year. Supporters' character is defined when the going gets tough: then you'll see that a shitload of man u players will jump off the bandwagon. But f***, that doesn't apply to me. If I was a bandwagon supporter, I would have jumped off years ago. Why do you even take your time to reply on such a s*** post? Good point
