Has anyone got the powers to stop this guy talking about Tim f*cking Sherwood?
-
I will just take your word for it, there is no way I’m going to look back at your posts, I want to feel positive ?
-
Is there any way to count who has posted in this thread the most? I would bet gdm has easily posted the most offering nothing positive in the process

Is Keith actually from Whitley Bay?

He definitely bites but why can’t people just leave him alone, seems a good chap, hearts in the right place. I don’t see what any Newcastle fan would get out of trying to bring him down.

Fair play Hoogan, i lazily looked at a stat site and thought it was for this season only. Players are allowed to improve, I feel Darlow has done that, and earns the right to keep his place until the next error. One thing we can’t complain about is our goalkeeping coach as our first and second choice have kept us in this league the last two seasons, if we stay up this season obviously. Not sure Dubravkas quality has much to do with our coach, he was clearly top class when he arrived, and should walk back into the first team when he's fit. Darlow has had a good run, but for me he's a flapper, he's not confident plucking the ball out of the air amongst other things, Dubravka is the number 1 for a reason. No room for sentiment. I think you could argue the coaching plays a major part. In the same way most of our outfield players have regressed, Sean Longstaff looking like the prime example, the fact Darlow waited so long to get his chance again, and to be more a less the same keeper as Dubravka (ref optimistic nuts 69% 68% stat) is a testament to the goalkeeper coaching and the players themselves. FWIW I thought Dubravka was dropping some clangers before he got injured, ones we haven’t seen Darlow make since he came back in. That’s not to say I wouldn’t still have him back in.

How have you got stats that show you the defence were 5m higher up the pitch? Impressive if you have. Could that be why dubravkas mins per goal conceded is worse over less games?

There’s a fair chance we’d have went down our first season back without him. We’d just dropped into the bottom 3 before the Man Utd match. He had a blinder and our results picked up overall. One of the main reasons was we had a good Premier League keeper rather than a Championship one. I don’t doubt Dubravka is our best keeper, I just don’t think at this current point in time there’s as big a gap between them as you say. I don’t personally think it’s affecting results either, i don’t think our defence is suffering, I think we would be in the same position had ol Dubs not got injured. We are blessed to have both.

I don’t disagree, but the amount he improves us is minimal.

This is the sort of mentality though that Bruce stuck with when he went 4-4-2 against Brighton because it’d be unfair on Carroll to leave him out. Disagree with that. There is barely anything between the two keepers. Darlow has shown he has improved since his younger days for us in the championship, he has more than earned the right to keep his place. I don’t see that the same as playing a striker for one game after he’s had a decent game, which at the time was probably fair enough.
-
Unpopular opinion but I don’t think Dubravka is the far superior keeper. Darlow has more than earned the right to keep his place.

For someone who’s confidence is at an all time low, being mentored by the worst manager in premier league history, I feel this is the one fella that doesn’t need all of this. He’s a 24 year old lad, that’s life has been football, sheltered if you will, he will probably see all this piss taking, the Twitter abuse, made one mistake and will no doubt be scapegoated further. If there’s one person I’d like to succeed it’s this fella, hung out to dry more often than not, by our ‘owners’, ‘management’, ‘fans’ he deserves a great career away from this shiteshow.

Did everyone just watch the goal in slow motion? It was a good goal, can’t exactly be classed as a mistake

We all know Shar will be in midfield don’t we. Almiron will be near Traore because he tackled him last season and Bruce will of remembered.

How on earth are we discussing Alex Fergusons and Peps flaws on the Steve f*cking Bruce thread? Hated the fella but Ferguson knew how to create longevity, he kept recreating teams that won. Apart from his first 5 they dominated this country for about 20 years, and he built it himself, to me he’s probably the greatest manager that ever lived. I think Pep is a great manager, he’s always took over when there was money or a very strong team, he has done it in 3 countries now, but he’s got to do it for 15 more years before he can be compared to Ferguson.
-
I don’t believe the game has changed that much that Alex Ferguson wouldn’t still be one of the best managers in the world if he came back. It’s not changed into a different sport it’s still football, he’s still been involved he’s there every week watching it, he’d still get more out of his players than nearly every manager in that league. Rafa got our cloggers to mid table yet when he had money at Liverpool he still couldn’t better Ferguson, most of us would still trust Rafa specially with money. That Man Utd squad Ferguson right now would have them competing for the title.
-
As much as he seems a nice lad, he’s easy one of the most overrated players by our fans. The whole of the twitter fan base seem to always compare him to Rice saying he should take his place in the national team. He can win a tackle, but he’s bang average in my opinion and doesn’t protect the defence at all.
-
Yeah, don’t get the nitpicking, he was fantastic against spurs, dealt with almost everything last night despite the conditions and their style of play, he is the last person we should be moaning about.
-
Lol It’s like Miggy, I love Miggy, I do think his strongest position is the number 10 role, he played there before we bought him, and arguably has had his best games for us in that position. But on Fifa I play him up top on the right of a front 3 and press triangle every time I can
