We've seen this pandering shit before. We're into our second generation of Ameobis and fist pumps is 30 and still talked of as having potential. People have every right to be cynical and fed up of the "canny, local lad" stuff. Players should be there on merit, not proximity. Having one of our own on the pitch would be great but not at the expense of superior players. Should not be captain or first name on the team sheet. Also those fucking tattoos. Who gets a finger tattoo, a bicep tattoo and a forearm tattoo all in one go?

Absolutely no concerns about his size. Currently we have the worst of everything, no one has pace, no one is physically dominant and no one is strong in the air. We've got comfortably the easiest back line to play against. I'll take a smaller defender with one or two good qualities over the 3 or 4 without.

That RTG thread has someone genuinely using FM as a scouting source. Not only that but they compare him in one FM game to Lukaku in another. Honestly, man. From the videos I like that he seems to score goals that you see in all leagues. Non of that scampering through defences that aren't there and pinging it past rank keepers. A lot of his stuff looks like basic strikers instinct, following the ball in, being in the right place at the right time. He doesn't look like one of those players who you automatically thing will struggle in another league. When you're just a big mad b****** who gets on the end of things I think you tend to do all right at all levels. Austin, Lambert, Bony, Grant f***ing Holt etc have all succeeded in the league through that sort of play. If he can do that and play a bit as well then he'll be golden.

We dont need to register them for next year, just this one will do for now How can being under 21 not count like? Citeh will be gutted to find they've just paid 49m for a player who won't even be counted as home grown. Sterling will be 21 this year. My understanding is that you need 8 of your maximum 25 players to be HG, either by birth or by time spent in the Academy. You can have unlimited numbers of under 21's but I'm not sure that they count towards that HG figure. Like I said, I could be wrong but I thought the FA were going pretty hard on HG rule, maybe even extending it so it's more than 8.

And it will count for very little if we don't spend good money on at least 2/3 more.

Haven't looked fully but surely we need to buy in 1 or 2 home grown players soon. Krul, Darlow, Dummet, Colback, Lascelles, Aarons and Sammy are all we'll have left in our squad next year if nothing changes I think.

I do worry that if that figure is true, both his fee and Wijnaldum's are eerily close to what I'd imagine Cisse and Sissoko are worth... I'm sure it's just a coincidence. I don't think he's anything special and this is realistically his one shot at making massive money, being the 3rd sub in a champions league group stage game and getting winners medals for making a handful of appearances a year. It's a pretty sweet gig.

Who is better than Evans at 7M? 27 years old, prime of his career. Seems a good deal to me. He'd be ideal as one of two in our set up like. A decently rounded defensive option. Don't get the hate. And Kaboul has seemingly featured for Tottenham far less than I thought. And he's 33/34 when that contract ends...

I don't know what league or level Atlas are a part of but its fair to say Williamson still wouldn't be good enough for it.
