His agent has attempted to engineer moves to the kind of clubs you mentioned but none were biting, he came out with some rather weird comments about how he hasn't been good enough so will be staying to play alongside Toivonen. Aren't PSV in financial difficulty? We could make them an offer they can't refuse.

He's a big step up from Guthrie, give him Guthrie's wages, flog Guthrie to a promoted / championship team and Mike can even keep the couple of million transfer revenue for all I care. Essentially a cheaper Joey Barton without the history and the injuries, I could live with a team of JB's. Unless we could get Seb Larsson on cheap wages, which I don't think he'd come for, I'd rather chance Lua Lua as cover out wide right next season. He was at the heart of everything that Brum did today, considering the lack of a fee I would have absolutely no problem with us giving him 30k a week for the next 5 years.

Fergie left, Jonas right, Barton and Nolan in the middle. That's pretty much our only option atm. Too much discipline in that midfield, it'd have to be: Jonas, Nolan, Barton, Raylor.

Hopefully Xisco is gone either way. I'd like to have Ireland as a replacement for Guthrie, similar wages and value, but Ireland has a lot more going for him on his day, Guthrie is average at best.

Kranjcer is on a lot less wages than Ireland is and would probably command a similar fee(or close anyway) and he can play wide as well if needed. His injury record alone should make Ireland far too risky. Apart from the last few months Ireland's been pretty much injury free. Kranjcar is reportedly on 45k a week, and I don't see him taking a pay cut, Ireland is on a fair amount at the moment, but I can see him agreeing to 40k if it gets him to a club where he wants to be. Besides we're looking at 7m+ for Kranjcar, no-one wants to touch Ireland at the moment and his price is at rock bottom, It would be crazy not to go for him I think.
