Be at a club like us? What are you implying? What about Andy Carroll, the eighth most expensive player of all time? We may not like to say it on here but we truly are one hell of a club with tons of supporters and even more importantly tons of potential. We are not an elite football club. We are one of the biggest in England, but a decent distance from the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal. Compare that to the world, then there are many clubs way "better" and "bigger" than NUFC. No point in bringing Andy Carroll into this. He left us for a "bigger" club with more success, and he wants his potential to shine at Liverpool. And as for Punk - Bad behaviour isn't unusual with young footballers. They can still progress at top clubs as the best managers in the world know how to control them. It's laughable that people are saying Ben Arfa could even be anywhere near as good as Ronaldo. Yes he might have the quality to be a good CL player, but he won't ever be as good as Ronaldo whoever is his manager. Just my opinion of course...

Going to watch us play in Europe, whatever the results.
-
Comparing Ben Arfa and C.Ronaldo If Ben Arfa was so good, or had the potential to be so good, do you think he would be at a club like us? There is a reason Ronaldo is classed as one of the best footballers in the world, and Ben Arfa isn't.

Sheffield Wednesday away, 1999. I was 6. We won either 2-0 or 2-1, and I remember my dad saying how purple I had turned when the players come out of the tunnel.
-
Aye I walked past the other day and the 5-1 was on a big flatscreen telly, and earlier today was the 4-4 v Arsenal. Looks a bit better/posher. Didn't go in, like. 99% of the stuff in the NUFC shop is shite.

Biggest rip off in Europe for an 18 year old to get a ST beneath L7.
-
That a joke? Are both sets of fans paying the same prices, btw? Or is this just all neutrals.
-
Wouldn't want Bassong back even if he started paying us however, Palacios would be a good signing and if Wigan go down we could nab Roddagella on the cheap. Sorry don't think I was being clear enough. I meant Tiote and Enrique might realise that moving to a bigger club doesn't always pay off, and listed a few examples. Then I meant we should give Tiote and Enrique better deals.

This season has been superb compared to what I expected. The main stand-outs being: - Tiote and Barton dominating our midfield - Making a laughing stock of both the Mackems and Villa - The greatest comeback in PL history - Steady away performances including our first win at the Emirates. There have definitly been more positives than negatives. All we need to do in the summer is bring in two players that will walk into the side (winger and striker, imo) to show the likes of Enrique, Tiote and Barton that this club is on the up. Tiote and Enrique might realise that moving to a "bigger" club isn't always the best thing. Look at Muntari. He went for big money to Inter and finds himself trying to re-gain form at the Mackems. Palacios in and out of the Spurs side, Bassong warming the bench up when he could have found himself playing every week for us. All we need to do is offer them a better deal and show them that this club is being ambitious.

Played well and it was a great finish. Looking onto next season, he's the perfect type of striker we need for squad depth as I think we should be looking for two strikers to go straight into the first-team, then ship Xisco out and Ranger on loan.

Excellent 3 points and another away clean sheet. Coloccini Williamson - Great partnership. Bar a few mistakes like all players make, they've done much better than I expected and it's ages since we had a decent CB partnership. They bossed Martins and Zigic for virtually all of that match. Joke if Saylor gets back into the team. Tiote - Was his usual self....amazing. By far the best defensive player I have watched at Newcastle so far. He dominated the midfield and picked up all of the loose balls. Jonas - First time in a while he's played very well. Set up two goals and hopefully he can keep up his form for a while. Ben Arfa, Ireland and Gosling coming back could help him perform. Best Lovenkrands - Worked well together and glad they both got a goal. Hopefully Lovenkrands only went off with a knock and he's fine for next Saturday. Those were the stand outs for me. I'm almost certain we will survive now. Might aswell push on and try for a top 10 finish NEVER EVER THOUGHT I'D SAY THAT AFTER JUST GETTING PROMOTED.

Why does everyone dislike Ashley within the transfer market so much? (serious question).
-
Home games are pretty poor, so I think I might just get the cheapest ST available to me just so I can keep my loyalty points.
-
I never really watched him very much, so can't choose him. He was quality on World Cup 98 for the PS1 though.

--------------Buffon--------------- -Cafu--Maldini--Nesta--Carlos- -------------Makelele------------- ----Messi--------------C.Ronaldo ---------------Zidane-------------- -----------Fatty---Henry--------- SUBS: Kahn Cannavaro Xavi Iniesta Figo Shearer David Villa I'm going by who I have watched quite often on the TV or in person and who has impressed me the most.

Am I the only one that thinks the kick off time change would be canny? Atmosphere is generally better when it's a late kick off in football and gives people more time to enjoy their day/have a few pints/soak up the atmosphere.

What a bizarre post considering people think we will sign benzema its not as bizarre, can we afford his wages? NO. Can we offer him top football? NO. Did you see Jones when he played against us this season? people coming out with half chances like gervinho, Connor Wickham this is not FM where you can take a punt, the only decent suggestion was from jamie for coming out with Agbonlahor. If we are taking punts ill come out with billy sharp. Kenwyne Jones is fucking shit. He has 1 good game every 8 games or so. This conclusion of him means i'd rather have Best, Shola and Ranger instead of wasting around £8 million and £45k p/w on someone who isn't just a donkey, but a ex-mackem.
-
Championship clubs having a decent chance of playing in the CL...christ! The extremes also include all other lower league clubs. Imagine Messi and co making a trip to places like Hartlepool.
-
So they will have more chance of their lovely 'top 4 but now a top 6' winning it/not meeting until the later rounds. Pile of horseshit.
-
Aaarg, I hate it when someone makes such a big effort in good faith andis yet going to get their post deleted because of fixture lists. I'm a sad git and already had it on my laptop. And didn't realise this would be classed as a fixture list.

Not the table, but... Match for match from our relegation season (used Blackpool as Hull etc for teams that are now in Championship), we are 17 points better off. This is a reason why I believe we WILL stay up. Man United away 3-0. 1-1. -1 Villa home 6-0. 2-0. -1 Wolves away 1-1. Hull 1-1. -1 Blackpool home 0-2. Portsmouth 0-0. -2 Everton away 0-1. 1-1. 0 Stoke home 1-2. 2-2. -1 Man City away 2-1. 2-1. -1 Wigan home 2-2. 2-2. -1 West Ham away 1-2. 3-1. 2 Mackems home 5-1. 1-1. 4 Arsenal away 0-1. 3-0. 7 Blackburn home 1-2. 1-2. 7 Fulham home 0-0. 0-1. 8 Bolton away 5-1. 1-0. 8 Chelsea home 1-1. 0-2. 9 WBA away 3-1. 2-3. 6 Liverpool home 3-1. 1-5. 9 Man City home 1-3. 2-2. 8 Spurs away 2-0. 1-0. 8 Wigan away 0-1. 2-1. 11 West ham home 5-0. 2-2. 13 Mackems away 1-1. 2-1. 14 Spurs home 1-1. 2-1. 15 Fulham away 1-0. 2-1. 15 Arsenal home 4-4. 1-3. 16 Blackburn away 0-0. 3-0. 17 I may have worked it out wrong, but meh. Still shows we are better off.
-
I'll love him wherever he goes (bar the mackems, which won't happen). I also wouldn't blame him for wanting out. We NEED to show him in the summer that we are a club 'on the up'. Same for Tiote.
-
Out: Xisco - Whatever someone will offer for him. Perch - £750k ish. Campbell - Free Routledge - £1-2 million. Won't accept being a bench warmer. In: A versatile defender that can act as cover for RB and LB - No more than £2 million. A winger to challenge/replace Jonas - Up to £10 million. Target man to replace Best - Nothing too much, but proven quality in a top league. A poacher to bang them in - Up to £10 million. Our defence is good enough for one more season in the PL, just need cover for the full back positions. The midfield is pretty good for a low-mid table side like us. Jonas isn't good enough though and we need someone to give him a kick up the arse or to replace him. Desperate for at least 1 striker, but i'd like to see 2 new faces being brought in. We should spend around £18-£25 million on the areas mentioned imo and upgrade our wage cap for key players then give Tiote, Enrique and Barton new contracts.

1) I must have watched them about 9 times this season, and Henderson has looked good in just 1 game. Except that, he's been piss poor. There is no way he has bags of potential to be a regular for England. Championship-Bottom half PL player. 2) Their support is pathetic. Yesterday proved this point once more. 3) How the hell are they 7th?
