  1. Disagree, there's more Tiote's about than there are Cabaye's. Disagree. Tiote's signing revolutionised us. Agreed, but that doesn't mean there's no Tiote's around to replace him with.... that's more to do with how crap our transfer policy was and poor the signings were. I stand by what i said, if you look around europe there's more player's of Tiote's ilk than Cabaye's. Finding a creative midfielder that can play DM, deep CM or AM. Can tackle, intercept, press well, sit when needed, create and score goals is very rare. Getting Cabaye for 4m was just ridiculous.
  2. There's that season ticket stuff. Seriously though, I'd be amazed if it's as straightforward as this. We might be interested in those players but I find it very unlikely that there aren't others that the local press doesn't know about. It's more likely that we're trying to drive prices down on other as yet undisclosed targets IMO.

    NUFC Kits

    Completely disagree Love that, like.
  4. Barely anyone played rugby 15 years ago. But the IRFU got the set up right from grass routes level and they are reaping the benefits now. I'll say it again, the FAI are a f***ing joke
  5. This. It's an absolute farce. The FAI are a joke, and it's depressing I actually don't think Gaelic and Hurling take away that significantly from the numbers playing football, I put it down to the incredibly poor youth set up...there more or less is none! As for gaelic and hurling in Northern Ireland...there's plenty of Gaelic, but it would depend on which parts. Not so much hurling afaik...
  6. And what more do you want them to do? It's not them but the incessant comments and admiration in the media. It's all got a bit boring tbh. The Scots, or The Welsh would be exactly the same as would most countries who could finance themselves to go over in their droves. The Scots and the Welsh would indeed be very similar, but the Irish fans have in general gave a good showing of themselves (bar the few arrests ) I can understand if the media keep harping on about it it would be pretty annoying but still, the fans have done us proud imo
  7. And what more do you want them to do?
  8. s**** players. Not much can be done with that I'm not a huge fan of the Fields of Athenry because so many plastic pricks sing it, and then the scouse turned it into anfied road... but the song itself is very emotional, that singing was impressive
  9. didn't know that yours is a bit lame tbf

    Other clubs' transfers

Fee expected to be between €40m and €50m...
  11. Agent is spouting off way too much. Which generally isnt how we operate. I smell bullshit. Agree. It is rare that our signings are picked up on in the media
  12. looks possible we are going to go with the 4-2-1-3... pleaseeee
  13. and it would be fucking class
  14. £5M-£7M spent on a replacement for Guthrie seems just very strange though. Yeah i think Amalfitano is Guthrie's replacement..... this is more a quality addition to the squad that can play DM and in both fullback positions. Disagree from what little i've seen of both... Amalfitano appears more of an attacking midfielder so replaces Lovenkrands for me whereas Anita seems to player deeper... Either way they both look like technical upgrades... Are you seriously suggesting Anita would be a Guthrie replacement as in a mere squad player for us? Why would he leave Ajax where he is a guaranteed starter and in the CL to sit on our bench? Also, can't see us spending >10m on a "Guthrie replacement". No... I'm talking basic like for like style replacements to our squad... Not sure where he would fit into first eleven considering the positions he plays are currently held by our better players... Maybe more competition for Jonas and to rotate with Tiote/Cabaye when unavailable... As for a £10m fee I can't see it myself... I reckon if we got this lad and keep Tiote then Anita will replace Jonas as DM alongside Tiote in the 4-2-1-3
  15. this. we were fucking woeful.
