  1. Ha! Had a feeling that might be coming... Laughing like a loon and also for not being bothered.
  2. Man City are the bin man that won the lottery. Chelsea are the rich kid who went to a top private school, fucked up his grades because he was thick as fuck but ended up CEO of a company anyway because his dad pulled some strings. Had a total flashback with this. I remembered The Dustbinmen, a shit ITV comedy series from the 60s/70s. One of the characters was always bringing up Frannie Lee and Colin Bell and "City". Jesus. If you have any other cultural references that will give me the creeps please keep them to yourself. Christ. Just looked it up and I must have blanked most of it out. It sounds terrible. Fancy my parents putting that on for me to watch while they went for a drink/fight/shag*. Ah, the good old days. * This was one combined event btw, completed in under 30 minutes
  3. To varying degrees, sure. It was particularly egregious today though, and obvious from the start, as Mick pointed out early on in this thread. Scholes, Cole, Owen, Webb as their team, man. I am cross about this and won't have any reasonableness. CROSS, I tell you!
  4. That's just standard when he's on the pitch tbh.
  5. I'm so pleased I don't pay for it. It was "United" this, "United" that, so I was already furious by the time Scholes said "United" should be beating teams like Newcastle. I don't even care if it's true, they should at least pretend to be objective. I haven't forgotten Cole singing his "sad Geordie bastard" song when they won the FA Cup, and we weren't even there, or Owen's multiple offences. Don't think I'll ever consider BT for anything again tbh. Must remember to fill in every survey I get in future with this marketing information.
  6. Gazza's on Soccer AM this morning and Stuart Pearce and Steve Harper on Goals on Sunday tomorrow morning too, if anyone wants to know.

    Football pet hates

Jerrel Floyd Hasselbaink wanted his nickname "Jimmy" on the back of his shirt when he came over here and that was nixed, one rule for forrin-sounding names and one for good old-fashioned English ones iyam.
  8. Non Newcastle goal, I'm not sure if it was the equaliser or the one to put Man Vity ahead, but I screamed like a little girl when it was scored against Sunderland in the League cup final. non newcastle goal ? the only one that had me out my seat was Michael Thomas's last minute title winner at Anfield. (Out my seat ? I was dancing on a table in Sidari I was that happy) That Thomas goal was something else. The whole situation was unreal, the last minute of the last game of the season, between the two title contenders, if it goes in one of them is champion, if it doesn't the other is. I really disliked Liverpool too. I screamed and did a little dance for that one.
  9. Hate those shit spoilers. Can't have the radio on, unless the whole internet thing goes tits up, in case I find out what's coming and have to wait and just mumble "OK. We scored", instead of the proper release my pent-up frustration needs. It's usually multiple "Yes!"es, some incoherent yelling, and some fist action. Then some post-event panting and gradual shame. For the life of me I cannot think of an analogy. Bit thoughtless of your dad like. Not got to grips with the modern world?
  10. Bellamy v Feyenoord definitely. Watched it in the local and there was much jumping and shouting and screaming and spillage. Tables went flying, man. Also Shearer v Everton because he hit it so perfectly that everyone was on their feet before it hit the net. Didn't know what to do with myself with Tioté's, think I just ran in little circles hyperventilating. 0-4 to 4-4, man, that is ridiculous.

    Alan Shearer

Loved the sidefoot volley into the top corner v Villa too, like. So many memories.
  12. Everybody except for one, maybe two people. And again, I'll ask, what do you do about it? Replace him with who? Mick's not backing down on this one! S'pose he could have moved him to CB and put Mbemba at RB. It's admitting Montero was ramming him and he wasn't able to take it, but Janmaat would be more use there than nowhere. Those decisions are why Schteve gets the big bucks and he didn't take any decision, he was a frozen rabbit in the headlights. I hate to say it, but Dick down the road subbed his captain/liability last week after 30m and they won the rest of the match 2-1. He's not a fucking idiot. Everyone on here seems to hate Taylor, but he's much better than Colo for physical challenges. Maybe sub him for Janmaat at HT would've then been my call. Now we've got no RB next week. Terrific.

Taking a que from us, after all our captain was the man who guided us to relegation. ¿Que? r0cafella just making stuff up again. Nowt new. Was just bitching about spelling, m8, nothing controversial.

  15. The contact was minimal for his first card. I think it'll go down as 'persistent fouling'. I had persistent Barry Horne persistently in my ear persistently wanting him booked and sent off, so he'll be happier now. What has he got against us btw? Schteve should have seen it coming as we all did. Little Vurn's going to have his hands full second half if he gets put there.

    Alan Shearer

He wasn't a clogger even at 35, man. Mackems had to take him out to finish him, the fuckers. I've got all day for Alan Shearer, he's the man. Everybody whines on about his MotD drivel, but he's doing his job. You want to hear the shite I have to say at work. Anyway, didn't you die recently? Are you OK now, though? That's the main thing.

    This could get interesting.
  18. I was there too. Insisted on going even though I had a bad cold. What a hero!
  19. Of course. http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php They're down there in the 3s.
  20. It's not as cut and dried as that, but they have some rotten apples in there. I'm getting the popcorn out.
  21. It kind of worries me how miserable I've felt today. I mean, Spurs were anodyne, then my FF was a washout. These things shouldn't continue to make me so pissed off - I'm 42 FFS. I know what you mean. For years taking part in these was just a bit of fun, and it made me keep up to date with other teams. That was fine. Now it's like "Aaargh! Redmond's on the bench! What the fuck?" I'm taking a year off to calm the fuck down. Still hate my bosses and the feeling is clearly mutual. I'll do a bit more real life and see what that's like.
  22. Quite enjoyed this last season but cba atm. A combination of yet another professional exam yesterday putting everything on hold (passed, yay) and my bosses sucking all of the joy out of my life, as previously chronicled. One of their reasons for the official verbal warning was that I checked my score in the work fantasy league, so that's destroyed my mojo. Maybe I'll be able to get it up for those competitions that have weekly or monthly prizes later in the season, . Five months on I'm still traumatised from that and still getting grief. Dreading every day. On the other hand I've now got a smartphone and check my score on that when they're not looking. Fuq da police.

Clattermole is an utter tool. I think he's badly injured 3 of ours over the years, and he'll only get worse. No redeeming qualities whatsoever. I can't remember the last player I saw as bad as him, literally cannot believe he gets incredibly overpaid to do whatever that is that he does. Kicking athletes, I suppose. FFS. Hope he puts that down as his profession on his passport, it would be the first honest thing he's ever done. Jesus, imagine looking back on your life and realising all you ever did was hurt people better than you. Probably hasn't got the self-awareness to do it, though, the little shite.
  24. Think he's in from 6.00. Reckon carefully filtered questions, but I hope someone goes off-piste.
