The biggest individual mistake is that Joselu and Diame constantly get picked. In Joselu's defence whilst he cannot hit a barn door, he works hard and tracks back. Unfortunately what we gain in defence we loose in attack as he is just so poor in front of goal. But Rafa wasn't able to buy who he wanted - so we can't blame him for that. He needed players simple as that. Diame I agree he's hopeless but he tends to play the '10' role and I think we're splitting hairs with him or Perez, they're both not suited to the role. But who else would you play there? Same argument peddled out what is the point in buying players if they are s***. Rafa should have done what Keegan did with John Hall when he put the block on players and walked out - Hall soon changed his mind. Rafa has been totally f***ed over everyone knows that but I still cannot understand why he settled on players who were so far down his list. You cannot polish a turd and you may as well not buy players than buy players who are plainly not good enough. The biggest gripe I have is these players keep on getting played and that is the reason we are sinking like a ship. Ashley is the biggest c*** going we all know that and I do wish Rafa had stood up and said f*** you instead of accepting 5th, 7th, 7th choice players. If this takeover didn’t happen the one person who can get that abominal fat c*** out of this club and get the fans into action is the manager but he may have to walk to do it. I’ve heard people call me a WUM and such but I’m telling it as it is. No owner, manager or player is bigger than the club and that’s what should be first in all supporters mind. Hopefully the takeover will see the club come out of the dark as currently this is the darkest period it’s been at since the McKeag days and it’s only not worse because we were not even a mid table second division club then. Am I reading this right? Rather than seeing these players you genuinely would rather have seen Benitez walk out? What I’m saying is that he shouldn’t have accepted those players and then say to Ashley and the media if you don’t get me the players I’m wanting I’ll walk. Keegan done it to Hall and look what happened. There is no point in settling for s*** players as if you do you’re in trouble as we are. It’s not about wanting Rafa leaving it’s about taking this c*** ruining the club to task and putting him under the spotlight. To have not brought any new players in at all for a Premier league campaign would have been absolute lunacy. I cannot see how Rafa could have done anything in a better way than he did. He knows what was needed but wasn’t allowed to spend the money required so HAD to settle for inferior players for the sake of having a squad. He’s blameless here.

What is it you expect him to do? Order his defence to stop conceding goals? Get what we always knew was a poor strike force to start scoring freely? All he can really do is organise the team and hope they do their jobs. Don’t sign them in the first place because they are not good enough. Most of them were signed to take us out of the championship. This^ Anyone who cant see this is a bit special. So Joselu and Manquillo were bought for the Championship were they? Get your facts right first before you try and be clever. Joselu was a Murphy replacement and Manquillo was obvious cover for fullbacks. Rafa didn’t sign them with the intention of being regulars in the first team and their fees reflect that. It’s well documented he got screwed over in the transfer window and we didn’t land the players he wanted or spend the money he was promised so it’s a bit daft to judge this as a Rafa side. You don’t buy s*** end of are people honestly on a different planet here. If you buy s*** you get s*** and if he didn’t intend them to be first team players well they are though and that’s the problem. I’ve said all along I think he was shafted but you don’t then settle for your 5th and 6th choices just because you want bodies in your team. If you buy s*** you get s*** but the biggest criticism is that these two continuously keep getting regular game time when their performances have been woeful. Eh? What should he have done instead in your opinion? Genuine question.

But not easy to get it right when you weren’t given the funds you were promised to buy the players you had identified to make the team competitive in the Premier League. He said we would struggle with the team we had and he was right. There wouldn’t have been a Joselu if he’d had the funds and there would have been a better keeper too.

I feel the game turned the minute Clark decided to slow the play down by passing back to the keeper when we had the initiative and had them on the back foot at 1-0. It gave them a chance to get back into it and we weren’t able to restart our earlier tempo.
