I agree; Some clearly don't see certain terms as quite as offensive as others do, though it's a hazy line in many ways. Paki, Jap, and going to the chinkies etc were only fairly recently dropped from what was classed as acceptable. Though they're in essence just country names, somehow the negative connotations have removed them from what is widely classed as acceptable. sp**, mong, and flid are still terms used widely in banter, but I really struggle with them, and I'm not sure why really. Taff? Jock? Acceptable or not? In the real world i don't know anyone who doesn't refer to a chinese takeaway as a chinkies or a corner shop as a paki shop (including the Indian owner of my local corner shop who is the most racist person towards pakistanis i've ever encountered, hates them with a passion). It'd be ambitious to buy new players without having to sell others. Another window of hoping other teams pay for our new player/s.

Not sure myself. I don't trust the manager to get it right and he'll probably end up wasting him like he's wasting everyone else (except Ba, who we're trying to sell). I'm sure Pardew would prefer Carroll so he could go back into his comfort zone of long balls.

QFT. This line people (Ba, Ryder et al) trot out 'we'll be fine if we play like we did against City' is just pure bullshit. We were playing against a side who took 20 mins tea break at one point FFS. Our performances have gradually improved but anybody expecting us to just turn up and play them off the park is in dreamworld frankly. While all that is true, we're playing a much, much worse team. If we have 17 shots like in the last match, I'd be confident of victory.
