We played 4-3-3 tonight, no? No.

Absolute horseshit man. Besides, there was still more time spent in their half than ours. 2-0 up at half time at home against a poor team with 10 men? We sat back and the first 20 mins of the second half was all them. -

The first half proves tactics and formations aren't as important as some claim when you just keep it simple and short. Worked a treat and we looked as good as we have all season. Second half playing for 2-0 is fairly inexcusable considering the circumstances. Still good enough to limit them completely but we should have had 4 or 5 tonight. -
shud of put him on da wing 4-3-3 innit.

That's ridiculous. Some players don't gel well together. That isn't necessarily the manager's fault. They were just examples, it's the whole team. He's wasted nearly every player all season and we've seen what a bad manager can do (Dalglish and Souness) to fantastic squads/teams before. It'll be completely unforgivable on his part if some of the better players leave soon.

Tiote 1 yellow off another suspension -
If the manager can't effectively use players as good as Ba and Cisse then he should be going.
-
C.Ronaldo would have broken it at some point. He was on 80+ at about 23 and only getting better.
-
What if it's Pardew that isn't happy with it? Which he blatantly isn't?
-
Wonder why he's shamelessly trying to sell some of our most important players in every window. Nobody is safe from "get 'em while they're hot" Pardew.

Phil Neville said on MOTD last night that when a manager tells the press his players are tired they start to believe it. I can't think of any positive for a manager to say that anyway, other than to take the heat of himself.

Impressive. Don't think he'd make my top 50* Premiership strikers though. * massive guess - I don't actually have a list I'll wait. You'll be waiting a f***ing long time Bookmarked. It's obviously about longevity in that they can't score 150 goals over night, you rascal

I think Defoe has just moved into the top 10 goalscorers in Premier League history btw. If not he's a goal or 2 off it.

Wages play a huge part too. We'll probably end up paying more in wages to Ba, Cabaye, Marveaux and Santon than we paid to sign them that summer. Wigan can't do that which gives us the financial advantage without the net spend looking bad.

2012/13 - (1.9m) 2011/12 - (1.8m) 2010/11 - 1.75m 2009/10 - 7.35m 2008/09 - (15.3m) [ ~ Transferleague.co.uk] I make that out as a £9.9m profit!* (excuse any errors) Contrast that with the numbers other clubs in the bottom half are spending, especially last Summer. Surviving on very little is as good as it gets for Wigan.

What?! You miss the last 6 months of last season? Prepare to get battered, Cajun. That's not a popular view.

It's more likely that that manager is simply playing him in his best position. There's very little evidence to suggest Pardew has any interest in using the 4-3-3 cheat code as much as most fans do. He claims we played it against Swansea which, while blatantly untrue, would further put him off playing it as we got beat.
-
Based on what? Totally unfair. Hughton has got the best out of his players in all three of his jobs. Coped with a Europa League campaign and a 46 game season excellently too at Birmingham instead of crying his eyes out about it every week. He used 29 players in 60 games. We've used 30 in 21.

http://www.nufcblog.com/2012/03/09/derek-llambias-hughton-a-great-guy-but-he-had-to-go/ "Alan, we felt, had all the ingredients for what we needed for us personally" Wonder what that means 5 points.

Yes but we have 9 players missing and europa league, and i don't believe in the statistics that says we play the long ball game... No matter what we should give him the rest of the season... Do you believe your eyes? uh oh...

Colo is supposed to be on huge wages and we've just given him a new contract so I'd say we're somewhat flexible in the right situations, with Simpson being the contrast.
