Has anyone suggested we sack him? It's very boring seeing a whole page of the same thing

I don't think that's true. We bought a defensive midfielder who's adept at playing RB and maybe even a little LB if need be. Anita offers a lot of versatility that a pure CB would not. It shouldn't be one or the other. We've known for years that we needed a CB who can improve us but yet again we're stuck with 2 CB's who, at best, keep us treading water. I'd call the "policy" effective but not efficient. We get good players but not enough of them.

It's just too easy to dive now. Even if it's such a blatant dive that no penalty is given they still rarely get a yellow card. Why stop when the gain is so high compared to the loss? Everyone in power is too PC about it, even to the point where the word "dive" is frowned upon. I think they're just hoping it all blows over like many other important things that never do.

An actual goal threat would be an interesting tactic against the joint worst team in the world.

To be fair that 33 will include the reserves too. We have used 26 players already this season so its not that far fetched If we've got about 20-25 players "banging on the door" that'll just lead to many of those players leaving. We've got no problems in that area now because most of our players are at the best club they'll ever be at and they know it. Same with the bigger clubs stock piling youngsters. I think you are giving Dekka far too much of your time and effort if you think he seriously means that. Like almost everything he says about football, he definitely means it but doesn't understand it.

Cannot believe he's only just turned 31. He's been around forever.

As if we'll have 33 players pushing for first team football Just think about how implausible that is, and not just because we'd never spend that much money. The biggest teams in the world have nowhere near that amount.

It'll be a tiny percentage compared to alcohol or gambling.

I wonder how they define "competing", especially after their actions (or lack of) this summer.

“Anybody who knows me and knows my management will tell you I am desperate to win something, and I think I have got a team that potentially can do that,” said Pardew. “Will we win the Premier League? Well, that’s probably beyond us – the size of squads of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea at the weekend, it’s going to make it very, very difficult for us to bridge that gap unless we get into the Champions League. “I still think that’s probably our best route to grow as a football club. “Having said that, a cup win would certainly raise our fans’ morale and the club’s morale, and that’s something I’m focusing on as much as that Champions League position.”

It did last season. It completely nullified our most inform player for 4 months. Same as it's doing this season with our most inform player from the last 4 months of last season. Neither players are wingers and it shows. Yet the team played it's best football for years. Also it far from nullified Ba, his form seemed to drop in front of goal as he was missing chances that he'd put away with ease a few months before hand. We did very well in 6 or 7 games but we had some awful results/performances in that time too. Tottenham, Wolves, Wigan and Everton spring to mind and plenty this season. It does nullify the wide striker to a large extent. Why has the wide striker not scored in about 20 games? Some say that's a freak stat and others say it's a problem.

That "I've got this covered" thing he does is a shambles. In the first half, possibly Welbeck smashed the ball across the 6 yard box and he just put his hands up and left it. Anyone running in had a tap in. Why keep doing this?
-
It did work though. Clearly not for whoever is on the wing. We've got 2 of the best finishers in the league but we don't act like it. Yes, but it worked for the team. You pick your best team, not your best 11 players. I'd be surprised if anyone thought we were picking our best team, as apposed to out best players.

Not really arsed if it works on an individual level, we won, what, six games on the trot? Getting the best out of both 20 goal a season strikers would do most of the leg work in our season tbh. If we can't get them playing/scoring together then we need to play somebody on the wing who knows what he's doing.

Sticking a 20 goal a season striker on the wing didn't work last season and it's not working this season. 20+ games of this and still no hint of change.

I'll need to see that again but it looked like the softest yellow card I've seen in ages. It completely threw Tiote off his game. He knew as well as we did he'd be off if he tried to tackle anyone for the rest of the match. The little things add up.
-
We changed to 433, it was Cisse or Ba to outwide. Same goes for Shola. Bigi came on for Tiote. Not sure if Anita is particularly a defensive midfielder. Hardly wasting the squad with 7 games gone, stop being such a fuxking drama queen. It was always 4-3-3. Cisse was always out wide until Shola came on. That worked perfectly again. Anita came on at 2-0 when we should have been going for it, not playing for a 2-0. He was awful btw. We've played badly/average all season. No sign of any change in the league. Negativity or truth?
-
He's wasting the best squad we've had in 10 years. Why put Cisse on the wing? Why put Shola on the wing and not use his aerial ability? Why bring 2 defensive midfielders on? Why take Ferguson off just when he was starting to look dangerous? I hope for his sake the next 3 league games are easier then they look.

you don't go around calling people twats on social networks though, do you ffs? That's MUCH worse than being accused of lying in a very serious case. As much as I'm sure that you're trying to get a reaction, it doesn't take a genius to look at both cases and to figure out roughly what's happened. If he was that badly done by, he would have left his tweet up, instead of deleting it. Bit immature about the 'who it is doesn't matter' bit. Clearly it does. He'll have been told to delete it. The point is that if he believes he told the truth then why would he just accept being called a liar? You wouldn't and I wouldn't so why should the pantomime villain Ashley Cole? You have to respond to being called a liar by calling them a t***? You couldnt think of a more dignified response? Give over man ffs. He's said it was in the heat of the moment and has apologised. I'm sorry for not jumping on the "easy target" bandwagon. you're a f***ing t***. I'm sorry. That was just in the heat of the moment of this debate. Please accept my apology. Your (no doubt personal) abuse to me was unprovoked. Spot the difference? Nar you provoked me by sticking up for Cole, which imo is unjustifiable. Great "banter". what? How can you stick up for him? Aye, they might have implied he was lying (note they didn't said "Ashley Cole is a liar". He just took the FA's statement to mean that) but the bloke is clearly a moron. So you don't agree, what do you do? Go on a social network where over 400,000 people can see what you post, including nearly every sports journalist in the country, and slag them off? Utterly f***ing stupid. He's walked right into it. Let him stay on 98 caps. Aye, banning him from playing for England is exactly right. Nobody will care about this in a week and the overreactions like this will be EVEN funnier.

HowdoIknow. Someone changing a statement is hardly uncommon. The bloodlust is hilarious though, as always.
