Most comments on here have been objective about the possible failure of finding an adequate replacement, the effect this had on team morale, wishing him all the best, thanking him for his services, and how hard it is to find a direct replacement who cares as much as Nolan did. But apparently one can only hold one extreme opinion on any given topic, either "he's sh1t," or "he's great, lyk." And no debate should ever take place. As if it's only in this thread If I didn't know better I'd assume there are people on here who want us to fail just so they can be "right".

That strategy worked (just) last season, and got us relegated 2 seasons before that. For me to be happy with this strategy we should BUY the replacement FIRST We have. So you think that this is Cabaye, and if he gets injured, then what?? Half of last season we played with 1/2 a team, you have to have way more of a squad than we have. Ashley is a chancer, in that he just plans for us to scape by and get lucky that we wont get too many injuries to get us relegated. If he gets injured then we play Gosling I imagine, one thing I do know is the club won't want players on huge wages sat on the bench. Gosling, who played for 20 mins last season??? What if Nolan has realized he has been replaced/wont get as much game time but feels he can still do a job somewhere as a first team player so he asked to leave? It's not unrealistic, especially given the contract situation.
