Well. I didn’t think it could get much worse than it has been. But I’m glad you’re not ‘them’ if that’s what you’d do. We needed a backup striker, CB, CM and arguably a keeper before this Isak shite dropped and we had money to spend. So there is absolutely no excuse for not pursuing other deals and actually getting players OVER THE LINE @Alan Pardew™️

Sewpa fan, is Hawk “Yeah. Well I’ve seen every game in person or on the TV for the last 9 years. What have you ever done?!” -

This shot stopper thing does him a disservice, mind. He is much more than that. Even with the 2-3 howlers he has made sweeping up during his time here. He is great off his line, set pieces and with his distribution from his hands. In this day and age. It just doesn’t help that he is probably the worst keeper with his feet across all 92 league teams -

Been injured for most of the last two seasons it seems Quality player. But it’s not ideal that our best CB seems to always be playing with an injury or not playing at all. -

Yeah. I’m never being ‘fair’ to Arsenal until Arteta leaves. He’ll get another half a billion to spend on DM’s and CB’s before he finally fucks off. -
I know transfer fees don’t work like this and it’s a bit reductive. But Rice for £105m or whatever it was. Enzo and Caicedo around £100m. Both a couple of seasons back, weren’t they? Prices are still going up, no?! Even if the market seems less active and clubs are restricted more because of PSR. It does then feel like Isak with 3 years left on his deal. Should be going for more than £130-140m. Even if he wants out. It’s only really his fitness record that can be questioned. But then I also think some of that is down to our managing of him and not having a back up who is fit for most of his time here. As others have said. There are intangibles with him and stuff that won’t appear on any stats sheet. He just has that swagger and unpredictability to his game that has regularly caused world class centre backs to look like Sunday league players.

This is kind of where I’m at now. I have been defending the club plenty as I think some of the stick has just felt like moaning for moaning’s sake and a bit wet TBH. But the pace we move at is horrendous and we seem incapable or not interested in giving up on a player when we’ve been fucked about or the cartel have swooped in. To move onto the next target on the list. We used to scout on the continent and had some decent success doing it even under Ashley. Especially true in recent times with probably what? 4 of our 5 best players coming in from Europe? Yet we seem really set this window on PL only and this ready made approach. Which is understandable to a point. But Botman, Bruno and Isak hardly needed bedding in much and Tonali would probably have been alright if not for the gambling.

Jesus. Their starting XI looks not far off full strength. Ours looks… well, not very strong. Ah well. Pre-season is meaningless shite anyway. Hate that prem teams have started playing each other, mind. But I suppose it was inevitable. -
Isak did score about 40% of our league goals didn’t he? We struggled a bit for goals at times when he was playing half fit after the cup final and all. I suppose the couple of other good players and someone like Sesko is the bit I struggle to see happening. I also think it’s a hard act to follow and big boots to fill. He is what? A top 5 striker in world football and the best in the league last season.

Optimistic Nut has been on the sauce and this board has tipped him over the edge Can see how it has, mind. Been awful on here for a while. Some of it is understandable. But plenty of entitled wankers posting shite and all.

He may well have had a point. But his legacy here seems to be saying that line. I think whilst pissed on stage bragging about how many pints he’d had. Or was that a different fuck up?! Oh and supposedly promising Howe he’d get Guehi here last summer. What a waste of fucking time he turned out to be. Maybe just a professional blagger who never lasts anywhere. We all know people like that.

Ah I’d be buzzing if he did sign. Although whoever does come in as Isak’s replacement. Then I feel a bit sorry for them. It’s not quite Kuqi replacing Carroll but they’d have to hit the ground running and they’d be walking into a negative atmosphere. That’s if he goes and then if we even get a replacement
-
Can’t stand him, personally. He just looks and sounds like he’s always massively impressed with himself. Even worse than Adam Smith (the boxing commentator) in that regard. Proper smarmy cunt. His articles are hit and miss. I do think he revels in the negativity and sensationalism a bit. TBF, unlike the others. He seems to have contacts and is actually a journalist. The rest of them are so incredibly small time and don’t give any info or insight whatsoever.

Bundesliga striker that is supposedly a bit wasteful with chances. That doesn’t usually translate well to the Prem.
-
This. Especially if we caught wind of this supposed agreement they had via his agent. How are we supposed to know they’ll then say £40m, £50m not for sale at any price. But yeah. After all the others. You should certainly be asking questions of how we target players and the whole negotiating process being not fit for purpose I suppose you could also argue they were always going to drive a hard bargain or not sell him at all after Mbuemo leaving.
-
Jennings? He’s a Chelsea fan and just pure Talksport clickbait. So it’s even worse. He’s like a poundshop Jordan. Shoe horning words into sentences in the wrong place or context and taking 5 minutes to make a point that could be sorted in 30 seconds. It’s a competitive old field. But out of all of these new school, podcast, social media ‘pundits’. He is the worst by miles.

From the get go him and Ornstein have said similar and at basically the same time. I know our local journos know fuck all. But the likes of Hope to get the odd scrap. Nothing from anyone else before those two transfer bores first broke the story. Seems fairly obvious it is the Liverpool end and/or Isak and his camp trying to drive the price down through media pressure. Well, that and Isak deciding he doesn’t want to play for us at the minute or at all.
-
Said it a while back. We need to sign Johan Bakayoko for this chant alone. Dunno if he is any good or not. Just make it happen.
-
100% this. We know fuck all about the contract situation and it is guesswork. I suppose all of it is, really. Reports range from Mitchell leaving it until the end of the season, Isak and his agent not wanting to engage in talks, us being miles apart with figures. All the way through to Isak demanding £300k a week. Which is obviously out the question here. It seems fairly obvious he has downed tools and is one step away from going on strike to force a move. If that is correct, then he can get to fuck. 3 years left on his deal, just won our first trophy in however long, got back into the CL and he is adored by the fans. It’s hardly like Everton fans chasing Gordon down the street and wanting to drag him out his car and batter him
