  1. Not sure why everyone is so bent out of shape with this. Not that we will ever know all the particulars. But it sounds like we dealt with Burnley in good faith and everything was lined up for him to come here this summer. Then it was widely reported they changed the price, I think a couple of times even? They’ve then strung us along for as long as they can and now supposedly a club who have far more spending power than us and first refusal on him. Have come and got involved. I’m totally fine on not paying over the odds for a keeper who is yet to prove he is good enough for this level, personally. £40m is a joke IMO.
  2. Yeah. If we are going to keep missing out on our first, second and third choice targets for a position. I think we’ll have to pivot to a different profile and still look for an upgrade or significant competition. Not ideal in this PSR world we are trying to navigate. But I don’t think we’re in a position to hang tight until a certain player becomes available or for example, not spending on a CB as it was supposedly Guehi or nobody. 3 outfield players are required or we will be in for a long old season.
  3. Hope wasting no time to stick the knife in. Square heeded cunt.
  4. We were world class under Allardyce before the season started
  5. Not watched a minute of this, thank fuck. Half to be expected considering where we are with our pre-season compared to them. But sounds like it has just highlighted how shallow our squad is. 3 new outfield players required. No question.
  6. Aren’t you the main culprit everyone is on about. As all you do is piss and moan?!
  7. I agree with this. Whilst it is frustrating as fuck that we keep getting done by the ‘bigger’ clubs for players we’ve been pursuing. It is hardly surprising and it just shows the pool of players we are going for are now at that slightly higher level. I highly doubt it is so basic and petty as ‘the cartel clubs just don’t want us to have X player.’ But it does feel like that at times! We still have a lot of FFP issues to navigate and have a lot of areas that need strengthening at the same time. So whilst it is annoying how slow we move. I get it up to a point. Also, if players and agents choose the big payday and so called bigger club over us. Then there isn’t much we can do about that. The same there isn’t about Burnley seemingly moving the goalposts here.
  8. We are, yes. But I’m not sure over-paying for keeper is the way to go about upgrading all these positions. I think a CB, CM and striker all take priority over keeper as it stands.
  9. Really not that arsed by this if we don’t end up getting him. The price was getting ridiculous. We need to upgrade on Pope in the next season or two. Plus a keeper that doesn’t treat the ball at his feet like a live grenade would be ideal. But I’m not sure Trafford was necessarily the one. He may well end up being world class. But it’s a massive outlay and we have other positions that IMO, need addressing first and whilst I know he is very young for a keeper. He is yet to show he can do it at this level. If he does sign, then great. I’ll get behind him and I’m sure he’ll be class
  10. Eh? Ekitike had 22 goals last season. So has he only scored 26-27 career goals?!
  11. It was a large amount for sure. But I’m not sure that last sentence is correct? He scored 22 goals last season in all comps alone, didn’t he?
  12. Not sure why. But it made me laugh that an account that has a black and white photo of their recently deceased player. Is wishing injury on a player of another club all because they didn’t get their way in the transfer market. Twitter is an absolute cesspit. Glad to be rid of it.
  13. Not really. Still no idea on the budget. So it’s hard to say. But we keep getting linked with £50m plus types. Which is great and makes a change from years gone by. But Trafford now seems massively over-priced, to me. So if he signs, that would surely take up a large chunk. I think we need a starting quality CB as a priority, followed by a CM who is capable of playing 20-30 games a season and contributing in a big way and then a back up striker. If there is any money left. Then I think a keeper would also be nice to have. I can’t see it, personally. Not all in one window/season. EDIT - I wonder if there are any loan to buy options out there that we could take advantage of? Similar to what we did with Hall?
  14. Like others have said. Sounds like it doesn’t track compared to other seasons. But Havertz and Werner underperformed theirs when they were signed for big money, I think. Ended up looking crap as strikers in the prem. Too small of a sample size and Ekitike looks quality and more than just goals. But strikers from Germany still worry me a bit. They don’t defend properly over there
  15. Sounds like a Key & Peele, comedy American Football name
  16. Had 4 ops in the same knee. So I’m always precious about this stuff
  17. Every update is the same. ‘Considering an approach’ ’Readying an offer’ ’Verbally been in contact. No offer yet’ Taking their sweet fucking time wasn’t it Monday this all started. Do they call up and say they’re definitely, definitely going to make an offer soon. Then get in touch with their paid journos to tell them this
  18. Not really followed his career. But it feels like he hasn’t kicked on like everyone expecting? Seemed one of the most sought after younger players in the world a couple of years ago. EDIT - just looked and saw he only recently turned 22. Probably being a bit harsh on him here!
  19. Fucking tedious, aint it?! Worse than our local journos for updates that aren’t actually updates. They’ve been ready to ‘ENTER THE RACE’ for long enough. Can they not find the starting line or something. The likes of Him and Ornstein are updating their own updates. That didn’t really tell us anything in the first place
  20. 100%. I just think it is a massive outlay when you factor in what I’ve mentioned. But he is worth that and more to us. No chance it gets done for £120m unless he kicks right off and tries to force a move. Even then, it seems light.
  21. He is worth far more to us than £120m. But with some of his fitness issues and his injury record. It is hard to see anyone paying £140-150m plus. Get fucked, either way.
