Is that tongue in cheek and a bit of self-deprecation there from Man U fans with the “You’ve seen United. Now fuck off home” chant. No? Doubtful.
-
Ramsdale is wank and all. Think he’d be annoyed with both goals. Glued to his line when the ball has been there to come and claim. Glad we never went for him.
-
Fair play. Big moments player already. Been utter shite and he’s got them out the shit on his own.
-
Sulamana’s pace could cause us problems next weekend. He’s fucking rapid!
-
You knew it was coming. He has had some big moments for them. Been shite all game and all.
-
Never mind Dibling. Based on this showing we should be signing Mateus Fernandes.
-
Holjund isn’t far off Isak’s levels. Another year and he’ll probably pass him.

I feel a bit like this. Was going to keep my mouth shut amongst all the praise and positivity Similar to how everyone is now seeing Wilson in a negative light. When along with ASM, was our only shining light for long spells. My views on Almiron have gone the wrong way. He’s stayed here far too long and even the positives he used to bring have long gone. His apps this season have been absolutely appalling. The club keeping him around and rejecting offers when they were there seems mental. He’s barely a squad player and on sizeable wages at a guess. Try and remember the good stuff and not the last year or so, I guess.

I think they have just wasted so much money. Despite all the millions they’ve spent. They have so many players who just look a bit ‘meh’ and lack the X factor you’d expect them to have. Considering the price tag and…. “This is Manchester United” (Gary Neville voice). They should still have enough to do a lot better than that against Southampton, mind.
-
Whatever happens from here. Man U have been appalling yet again. Should have conceded more than one.

Well you’re misreading it massively either way IMO. Also. The Isak thing is their fans all over their Youtube channels, social media and now even their ex-pros. Going on about how they need to ‘go out and get Isak.’ Along with the Arsenal fans in general arrogantly going on about signing him. Again. How are these two situations even remotely similar?!
-
Again. Who is saying that? Most people are saying he’s going to be valued around £50m or more. Which is a bit rich for us and also that player. Not remotely comparable.
-
I hope we’re not relying on subs, mind. Earlier in the season they were saving us. But it seems like for quite some time. We get noticeably worse once we have made changes. Which might be why Howe is so reluctant to bring on fresh legs earlier and waits until he thinks the game is done.

I’d guess at Murphy nearly having as many Prem assists this season. Than all of Almiron’s seasons in the league put together. That’s the one thing that annoyed me most about Almiron on that side. He never looked capable of creating anything for others and he still doesn’t.

It's weird how people see different things. I thought he was frustrating and poor by his standards. Still scored, mind There were some almost HBA/ASM type moments from him with how good his skill and drop of the shoulder was. But he kept running down blind alleys or wanting to drift into traffic all the time and losing possession through over-playing or a crap pass. I do think he wants too many touches at times or seems to be over-thinking certain situations and slowing it down when it doesn't necessarily call for that. I've always loved him when he just gets on with it, makes his mind up and goes. It is what made him stand out so much from ASM when he came in. So much more direct and purposeful. Not a lot of twisting and cutting about with fuck all end product. Nitpicking, though. He is obviously a massively important player for us and he works like a trojan.

I think yes and no with Tino. He is great driving forward on the ball and still provides the option on the overlap. He is quick and always a willing runner. He just always looks like getting a low cross or a cutback into the box is really difficult for him. There was one last night where we won a corner and it seemed harder to hit the man than get it in the massive space known as ‘the corridor of uncertainty’. I think Tino’s game is all about his one on one defending and the energy and physicality he brings. His passing and how he is in the final third doesn’t make me think he’ll start chipping in with many assists like Murphy has and like Trippier used to.

I thought Schar might come back in for Botman. But I only realised this morning that it's Thursday and we play 12:30 on Saturday. Can't imagine he'll be feeling 100% if he missed out altogether last night. Feels like we must need some rotation. But then we don't have many genuine options and we've managed the minutes and intensity pretty well during this run. So I'm guessing we'll be unchanged.

I liked Primal Scream after the match. Have we totally done away with that? Hey Jude needs to fuck off. They had a spell of always playing DJ Otzi and Baby Give It Up at volume 100 post-match if Wilson or Almiron had scored. So so bad
-
Yep. We quite often work the ball and he gets into an area where the pass for him is perfect for a right footer. Against Leicester a few times, Ipswich, one where he clipped the post, I forget against who? It was at home, Villa? Sa made a top class save from him last night from a similar angle.

I love the way he has played the game since coming back in, with how he has kept it simple and played like an old school winger. He has some pretty glaring weaknesses. But we/he usually masks them fairly well. I like that he is a bit of a throwback and isn't afraid to have a shot or chuck an early cross in. Last night, his crossing was pretty dreadful and aimless. But the volume and how he isn't afraid to keep trying it is more of a positive than a negative. It makes me hope for a right footed player to come in as our new RW option. Not sure how many teams play with genuine right winger types like Murphy now. So not sure how viable that is. But the balance of our side is better with him and Tino staying wide. With Gordon on the other side getting licence to roam and drift inside. Isak's form has been massively helped by Murphy/a right footer on that side, as well.

Very good deal. You'd like to hope that it gives us some sort of scope to bring someone in this month. But if there isn't a deal to be done and it's another squad player type. Then perhaps not worth the money and we're better off waiting.

The fact we keep winning and scoring plenty, I'm not sure it is an issue. But I do wish some other players would start chipping in with goals to take the pressure off Isak and Gordon a bit. Was it last season or the season before where I think we had the most or very close to the most different scorers in the league? We only have 7 different scorers this year and most of those are by Isak, of course. So we are 7th on total goals, but joint bottom on the number of different scorers. I have no idea what the split is like for other teams and I'd imagine it would be weighted heavily in the favour of the world class lone striker scoring say 20-40% of your goals on their own, at a guess. But after Isak, we have Gordon on 6 and he is certainly getting his eye for goal back from last season. Which is great to see. Barnes on 5, who is injured for a month or so. Not ideal. Joelinton has 4 but I think he could and should get more. His composure when presented with decent opportunities on the edge of the box, along with Bruno is usually lacking. Murphy on 3. He is actually unlucky he doesn't have more. The usual mix of good saves, his love for the woodwork and some wayward finishing. Schar on 2 Bruno has 1 I don't really know why I've bothered writing all this out or even thinking about it now I just guess if Isak went through a leaner spell or he misses any games. We need someone to take the load off. Bagging some goals from set pieces again would be nice. Tonali definitely has a goal in him. But his role prevents him getting too far forward a lot of the time. Left backs aren't usually a goal threat. But with Hall's technique, could he start to chip in a bit as he continues to develop? Now Bruno is back as an 8, could he rediscover his goalscoring form. 5 in half a season, then 4, 7 last season. Someone as good as him should have more than 1 goal.

Which time at Arsenal? It was usually great movement from Isak most the night. They didn’t know whether to drop or push. They were shitting themselves all the while. As he always does. He fakes to drop short and then spins behind and vice versa. His goal was due to Gabriel and Saliba getting caught up with trying to battle our twin towers from the Pardew set piece Then clever from Isak to pull off onto Odegaard and use that little shove. Which I think he has done a few times with great success. Wolves header 2 seasons ago. West Ham away last season/season before. Whenever it was he got a brace. For this. Isak himself looked surprised at the space he had. You could have driven a bus through the gap between them and to make it worse. One of their players just sprints out to close someone down and then stops realising he’s vacated an already massive space. Along with how deep Agbadou was. It was criminal defending. You can appreciate Isak’s ability to find space and the lovely through ball. Whilst also saying how shite they defended it. Imagine this place if Cunha did that pass to Strand-Larsen up the other end and we defended it the like that. I mean, Strand-Larsen would miss. But that’s beside the point
