  1. Based on the first half chances. Man U should have been ahead TBF. But they were dreadful second half.
  2. Could play the Big Top music over that comedy of errors at the end there
  3. Yep. Been toothless since Traore and Muniz have gone off. Wilson and Jimenez have offered fuck all.
  4. Normal service has been resumed
  5. Only seen the second half. Man U have looked poor. They are always wide open when they lose possession. I know they kind of play that way and it’s risk/reward. But their attacking play hardly makes up for it.

“Four bids, Paul? Four?! That’s insane.”

I know Man U are renowned for wasting money and paying massively over-inflated fees. But reading the article, mentioning Wan Bissaka at £50m was the outgoing transfer record for Palace. Wow. Makes £60m’ish 5 years later for Guehi seem like a good deal.
  8. This game can’t come soon enough. The transfer threads on here have become like the fucking Twilight Zone. Sheer madness all round
  9. Yeah. Klopp came across as a massive prick by the end. But his points hauls and ability to regularly compete on all fronts was very impressive. Imagine that 5-6 year run or whatever it was when City and them were always battling it out right until the end of the season. Would have been boring as fuck and City walking it every year by 15-20 points or more.
  10. What? So a year ago. Some people may have wanted both to stay. A year passes, people that may have wanted them to stay previously, think they should now be moved on as the club looks to progress. But people can't moan about it, because you said a year ago they should have been sold?
  11. Again, he shouldn’t be getting shit from his own fans. But I can understand the frustration. His workrate is unmatched. But his quality and output in the final third is absolutely abysmal.
  12. I feel like if Almiron is starting games this season, after supposed interest from Saudi and the MLS, then he is going to cop a lot more flak than usual. It seems like fans have 'turned' on him to varying degrees and the fanbase have been unanimous in needing a decent right wing option for the last couple of years or more. So he will become the focal point of people's frustrations. He certainly shouldn't be getting any shit. But at the same time, I'm not really sure why we are holding onto him. Are we really going to get that much of a better offer? Say £12-15m for him? He's a wideman that doesn't score or create and he's 30 now and a player that relies on pace and workrate. Can hear the audible groans and swearing when we fuck up yet another opportunity for a shot at goal, due to his inability to make a decision or refusing to use his right foot.

Yeah. He seems like a really nice bloke TBF. Perhaps overly nice. Not a cunt like me

Agree his price is getting ridiculous and the carry on from Parish is hardly ideal. But not having that price comparison. VVD was what, 25-26 when he moved so a similar age and went for £75m 6-7 years ago. What would that transfer fee if it happened today? A lot more than £75m. The same way this deal would not be around £65m in 17-18 or whenever it was. I can understand their stance up to a point. But I’m not sure they are going to get the bidding war they want. So our offer may well end up looking pretty enticing. That’s if we don’t withdraw it, of course.

So what else could we have said assuming we did brief the media that we have other options. Say naff all or say “we’re all in on Guehi. There is no one else.” If you’re negotiating a sale. Why on earth would you paint yourself into a corner and make out you only have one option? That makes no sense. It wasn’t just meant to be a dig at you. I have just found some of the over-thinking, in-fighting and comments surrounding every crumb of news around transfers on here absolutely mental this window. People seem really highly strung and desperate TBH. Which I am now guilty of joining in with and fuelling, TBF

This place has gone stark raving mad “Bad news we may have briefed the press about other targets.” “Yep. Just goes to show the deal isn’t close.” Sorry, what?!
  17. The lack of activity this transfer window has sent this place a bit RTG
  18. Yeah. Plymouth are atrocious. If Wednesday could finish or didn’t keep having an extra touch when not needed. They’d easily have 5-6. They’ve been good under Rohl. So interesting to see how they go this season.
  19. Followed by an unfortunate, yet amusing own goal. How does Rooney keep getting managers jobs. He’s clearly not good at it.
  20. Not really sure it matters much either way and you can’t read too much into pre-season results. So long as the conditioning, tactics and all of that jazz are correct and the off season has gone well otherwise. I’d say that’s more important. Didn’t we have an amazing pre-season under Allardyce results wise. Then we were utter shite after 3-4 games into the season. Got a fair few Spurs mates and I’m sure they had a few seasons in a row where their pre-season results against big teams were impressive. But the season proper was anything but!

Nobody wants our ageing players, who are on contracts that far outweigh their actual ability? Meaning we can’t really move for targets that would actually improve us. I’m shocked. The GK thing is odd, grantef. But Ruddy has basically signed as a coach and the bloke from Forest seems like a PSR fiddle only.

Like 10.1 seconds or 11 seconds? Wouldn’t you have been competing on the world stage if it were the former
  23. Would like to see Kelly get the nod. From the glimpses I have seen of him this pre season. His long range passing and confidence on the ball will make us a lot better in the build up. Guessing it will be something like the below: Pope Trippier/Tino Schar Burn Hall Longstaff Bruno Joelinton Murphy Isak Gordon Murphy has had a good pre-season and Almiron has not been back long. Not sure Howe is planning on shifting Gordon to accommodate Barnes. As much as I’d like them both to start. Trippier could be a similar situation to Almiron. Not been back too long and could mean Tino starts.
  24. Odd that Dubravka is starting. Can’t see how he has a future here. Although the two keepers we’ve signed hardly inspire confidence.
