Which is more down to our attacking plan relying purely on the right hand side triangle and a cut back, a cross from the byline from the left or aimless deep crosses. Away games in particular. We have created absolutely fuck all so far this season. Woltemade often looking isolated and in the small amount of time Wissa has had on the pitch. He has barely had a kick. Despite some great movement and runs in behind. Couldn’t disagree more on needing another striker. We need to improve the service to them. We have no guile from midfield and our wide men can’t beat a full back and usually play far too wide and/or deep, anyway. Woltemade does need to work on his movement at times and Wissa needs to stay fit and get meaningful minutes, mind.

We play with one up top and have just spent £60 odd million on one and £55m on another. On what planet are we signing another senior striker to get minutes ahead of those two?! If Osula goes. Maybe he will be replaced by another younger, project type of player. But we have plenty of other areas that need investment first and positions where we haven’t just dropped £120m.

What?! CANS of rum and coke? What a fanny. They’re only like 5%.

As @Interpolic pointed out. We were heavily linked with Mbeumo and Cunha. I would say wages and the overall financial packages would be better from Man U. Plus the fact that it is still Man U we’re talking about. Even if they have fallen off. We were very close to signing Sesko, too. But luckily he chose Man U. Looks a bullet dodged already IMO and Woltemade looks a much better footballer. We would also look a lot better if we weren’t playing in Europe and already going deep in the League Cup and not getting dumped out by Grimsby in our first game. Small sample size with Howe. But it does seem like he struggles with this and hasn’t adapted to it yet. That’s not to say he won’t. But I have my doubts. This transition to a different style has been a bit of a mess and where I do agree with you is. I don’t think we are improving and I can’t see what it is he’s trying to do. He’s proven me wrong countless times and I’d like to think he will yet again.

TBF, I didn’t reference our game on purpose. As we were shite and they had so many players missing. But yes, I agree.

@Whitley mag odd to use Man U as a comparison. No Europe so only one game a well. They’ve still spent a lot of money over the years and from a higher floor than us. They have bought well at times, yet also wasted money like we have. They have spent a large amount on an underperforming attacking player this summer. Much like we have. I’m sure Froggy will be on to tell us how great they are. But are they really looking that good or like they’re close to figuring it all out? They still look incredibly easy to play through whenever I watch them.
-
He is. Although TBF I think he used to get team news and leak it early. Before stopping/being asked to stop.

Fake as fuck. Keep seeing AI nonsense around AFCON for some reason.

Ah. The old ‘Keiron Dyer has AIDS and he’s not actually injured’ rumour?

Reminded me of Guthrie on Craig Fagan against Hull all those years ago. Pretty sure he was rightly sent off and he broke Fagan’s leg. How did he not get sent off here?! Forgot how bad they are in the Championship

Reece James gets away with murder.

After Chelsea’s carry on against us and how they are as a club in general. I’m glad Villa are winning. They’re thoroughly unlikeable.
-
Beaut of a header that.
-
Chelsea really do lack experience and discipline. No wonder they get so many cards. They regularly lose their heads. Think they had 6 yellows plus one for Maresca at SJP last weekend.
-
Chelsea have royally fucked this. Should have been out of sight. Villa the better team since the subs.
-
You just know if he let it play out. He would have given the foul the other way James was just trying to Rugby tackle him for a good minute FFS. Shite reffing.
-
What? He is a good player. He is just an awful whiney cunt and a panto villain for other team’s fans. Not really a controversial take. Joelinton is the same for us. Bruno Fernandes. Gabriel for Arsenal. Yates for Forest. The last one is a bit out of place ability wise, mind
-
So do I in hindsight. But everyone would have kicked off if we sold our player of the season to Liverpool that summer. I think I certainly would have done. Hard to predict he would try and adapt his game, get loads worse and become wildly inconsistent. Anderson and Minteh were also unproven. The former was position-less for us and Minteh had one quality season in a poor league under his belt and that was it.
-
Wasn’t he rumoured to be on like £180k a week when Chelsea signed him for £50-60m?! That was a few years ago and all. I’d certainly want my Spain international left back to be pretty fucking good for that outlay. Decent player. Unbearable cheating, snide cunt.

Not just lose. They battered us FFS
-
Yep. Said as much in the Howe thread. If all the fans can see it. Then I’d imagine elite level coaches and armies of analysts have noticed this too.
-
I think everyone sees it differently. But it’s more that his performances are always night and day, basically week to week. So many predicted after such a good performance against Chelsea. He’d soon revert to type. He did, IMO. I don’t think it is always through a lack of effort FWIW. Even though I think he is a moody player and his application often seems lacking. I just also think he technically isn’t as good as he tries to be these days. His finishing and passing is often poor. I think he has changed as a player and how he approaches the game. Not sure if that is from him, coaching, being found out a bit or all of the above. But too often now I find him ineffective and awful to watch. Especially when we have a less flash but more effective player who always makes way for him. Regardless of form. EDIT - just to add. Woltemade is still new to the side and league. Has some promising signs but also goes AWOL a lot. He does get criticism, but understandably less. He also has 9 goals for us already despite being a work in progress/us not getting the best out of him. Murphy is so limited as a player. But he knows what he’s good at and regularly puts in 2-3 devilishly good balls every week. He always used to get shit. But I think people just appreciate what he brings now and for all his flaws. What you see is what you get. Gordon is supposedly one of our star players and is paid like one. Rarely performs like one.
