A lot of nothing in that Athletic piece. But it is quite promising that it seems like certain players wages will soon be off the books. I’ve no interest in understanding all the PSR shite. But seems like we will have some money to spend in the summer and some wiggle room with wages, too. If Lewis, Wilson, Trippier, Almiron, Dubravka and Hayden are all likely to be leaving.

I like Miley. But I find it a bit mad so many people are clamouring for him to start in place of Bruno? He was chucked in before he was ready to be starting regularly last year and whilst he was promising. It was clear he wasn’t quite up to playing meaningful minutes every week. He’s hardly featured this year and this is our biggest game of the season. I’m not even a big fan of Longstaff and Willock is out of form. But I just don’t see Howe playing Miley ahead of those two and nor should he, IMO.

No. I get that and knew you weren’t suggesting he plays as one of the 8s. I just don’t see it at all. I don’t think he is particularly creative with his passing. Not skilful or decent in tight areas. His game is all about running in behind and getting space to go at a fullback 1 v 1. Along with his volume of crosses he’ll chuck in. I’d actually like to see him start to freshen it up and give us someone more clinical in the side. Just not sure who would come out the side. I think it will be the same as Spurs. With Longstaff/Willock in for Bruno. Plus maybe Kelly for Botman if the numbers say he shouldn’t start.

I might be wrong. But I’m sure both this one and Hall’s v Man U have not been classed as assists. But last time I looked. Salah’s v West Ham counted even though it comes off a West Ham player before getting to Gakpo. Fuck knows.

Not that we are or were a pure counter attacking side. But to a lesser extent. Teams have done that to us at SJP and managed to frustrate us. With us struggling to break teams down and create chances.

Annoying. Their goal dif got a right boost against these useless fucks.

Wolves have shat the bed here. Awful showing from them this half. Seems like their tactics are to hoy terrible crosses into the box with only 1-2 players in there to attack it.

I was more meaning how many games we scraped a win. Obviously we had some quality performances. But I went to quite a few games that season and in hindsight. We were lucky to nick wins a lot of the time. Early in the season. The defence was rock solid and we didn’t concede many, from memory. Similar to Forest. The bloke from Brentford does a TedTalk using that as a reference, xG, goal dif etc. I feel like Forest are kind of similar. So keep expecting them to come unstuck over the season. But they do keep winning most weeks.

I still think they will. Not sure what it’s based on. But they seem to be in so many tight games. It doesn’t feel sustainable. A bit like when we finished 5th under Pardew. But I suppose we did finish 5th in the end

Joao Gomes is class. He’s all over the pitch and always demanding the ball.

Sort it out FFS Wolves.

They have some nice passers and their movement is decent. But they don’t look particularly composed in front of goal.

Looked good whenever I’ve seen him this season. But he’s had a turbulent start tonight.

Elanga is quite two footed, isn’t he? Always enjoy watching a player like that.

WTF is Don Goodman on about? Got himself confused by the offside rule there.

Good game this. Cracking volley and a great scramble from a corner there. Strand-Larsen or Hwang himself should have scored earlier. If it stays at this speed. Then you think it’ll suit Forest and they’ll bag again on the counter.

Lovely pass to start the move from Anderson. Quite a novel idea from Forest to not mark Gibbs-White for the first 7 minutes of this game.

It was if it was the one I’m thinking of. We had a chance to retain possession or even create a chance. But the pass inside was sloppy and set them on an attack. Feels a bit harsh singling him out for one crap pass. But it’s how long he takes to do things and process what his next move is that frustrates me. It is the same with Murphy. The difference between the full internationals (Gordon does it too, mind) and squad players. Said squad players who have done really well here, it must be said.
