  1. I still have a feeling that our failure to strengthen has damaged the morale of some of our players too.

    Pardew Out?

Solskjaer, Martinez, Garcia, Clarke off the top of my head. Sure there must be more aswell.

Silly fool is playing for 0-0. Against Stoke. Good luck Dembas, hope you don't expect any service tonight.

    Pardew Out?

Pards shouldn't you be concentrating on finetuning those ground breaking set pieces we'll be using tonight? Nobody has a chance with anything vaguely positive at the minute. Is this what it felt like when you were defending Ashley, Ian? This place has gone to utter s***. Why do you have to defend anyone? Why not just discuss what you think is best for NUFC and forget about 'taking sides'?
  8. This came up a while back aswell and my opinion hasn't changed. I think it's good to have a 2nd tier european competition that the smaller teams can have a realistic chance of winning and doing well in. I do wish they'd stop the CL teams dropping into the europa though.

Obviously it's a factor, you can't prepare for two games at once, no matter who is going to be on the pitch on the night. I would say it depends on how you prepare. That's a bit too vague to argue with, but I can see how it would be much more difficult to work on your approach to a PL game if you're playing a game in Europe in the middle. Well, we've gone over this a few times before so I didn't want to get into it too deeply again but if our training was focused on how we play and not on stopping the opposition it would mitigate the preparation limitations somewhat.

  11. Well, our visitors can see exactly how deluded we are here: http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,92839.msg3912782.html#msg3912782 85.9% of the board thought we'd finish between 6th and 9th. I don't think that's particularly deluded considering last season. Basically aiming for a top half finish.
  12. Yeah, playing in europe might affect our chances of qualifying for europe.

To be fair, the next sentence gives it a little more context: I think he's saying we've taken the wrong option at times, playing short when a long ball was on and playing long when a short ball and keeping possession would have been a better choice.

More promising IMO. tbh its not like we have used them (arfa & cabaye) in our tactics imo. Its not like we have given the ball to cabaye and really used him as the playmaker he is. The plan for for arfa has been. Give the ball to arfa on left (hopefully he is not just outside our own penalty-area) and hope he, by himself can do some magic. It is bulls*it from pardew. They are our best players but they have not been used the right way imo. I have turned against pardew...and its only for the last two months or so....but he seems so clueless and his football philosophy is depressing. if we tried to develop football styles like for example dortmund, swansea, ajax, arsenal etc. then i wouldn´t mind us losing (often) coz i knew we where trying to get somewhere. Is this the style of play our youngsters is learning in our youth teams.....long ball and learn how to adjust to our opponents? Its wrong, and we should stop. The clubs buying policy is ok, but we need to play the same through out the ranks and find the right players for it. This current approach will fail and has already imo. The thing is, you watch our kids play and they play football and their style couldn't be any different to the first team. promising, i guess Don't worry, we'll soon coach it out of them.
  15. This. You're 2 points behind Fulham who apparently are playing well. That doesn't mean you can't be justifiably angry at performances/tactics, but surely maintain some context at this stage of the season. It's not February. It's not even December. We have a horrendous set of fixtures coming up though which I don't expect us to pick up anything from. These 'easy' games we've just gone through are the ones where you're supposed to pick up points and they only come around once a season. We've missed that chance and while the gap is only a few points now, after we've gained zero points from our December fixtures i'm sure it will have increased.

He can piss off then. Nobody is bigger than the club.
  17. 3:45am so at least i've got a decent reason not to put myself through 90 minutes of the worst football it's humanly possible to produce. Probably still will though

If they come out and say he has improved his timekeeping and general attitude would people be willing to give him another chance?

I think maybe we don't have the time. If four days out of five are taken up with defensive work then it only leaves one day for everything else and that's only about 3 hours of actual training. Obviously in that scenario something would need to be sacrificed.
