So someone else will suddenly want to pay Mike Ashley what he thinks NUFC is worth because of Joey Barton's rant? Until someone else wants to buy NUFC we are stuck with Ashley. Ironically, his penny pinching is more likely to help him sell the club as NUFC will be more attractive to a buyer without the debts of most clubs. Knowing our luck any new buyer would end up being like Birmingham City's owner or QPR's tight fisted owners. No? I didn't say Joey's rant will make a buyer pluck up from the ground, I was alluding to the anarchy aspect forcing Ashley's hand; i.e. lowering the asking price, which would hopefully appeal to some buyers. As you say, NUFC could be more attractive to a buyer now, as opposed to last time, with costs way down. Like I said, it's very positive thinking at best

So obviously "this group of lads" is all but dismantled now. We've lost a lot of spirit and graft which certainly kept us up last season. However, I believe this "new group of lads", meaning Ba, Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Abeid, Marveaux and I'll include Vuckic in that aswell, have the potential to be better for us. Technically I think they're more gifted than their predecessors. Obviously it's a massive gamble, but I'm trying to be positive, this could still turn out to be a good season. Joey has hardly lifted the lid on a massive secret, we all know the owner and his cronies are a bunch of soppy cunts who haven't the first clue about running a proper football club. What it has done, is brought things out a bit more to the public and non- Newcastle fans. Lots of people at work are giving Ashley a lot of shit for the deciet and such about the transfer money disappearing and the general way he runs our club. Joey has over stepped the mark, of course, but in doing so may have started the ball rolling for Ashley & Co to finally be on their way out. As someone posted earlier, anarchy might be the only way to overthrow these guys. I realise there's a lot of fairytale thinking in there, but I can't just be enveloped totally in the negativity currently surrounding us.

It's funny how so much can change in such a short space of time. A few weeks ago after our initial signings, the positivity was back. I genuinley thought that the magical £35M was going to be spent in helping us flesh out our squad with quality players. This hasn't and clearly won't happen. This club is being torn apart and it's horrible to watch. As ever though, we (the fans) will be here in the aftermath of it all, left to pick up the pieces. As for this season, I can't see anything other than a relegation dogfight right now. Horrible considering this was the summer we had a real chance to kick on when instead, we've gone backwards and look to be on a slippery slope.

Can't wait to see him shin it past Ashley Cole and fizz in a perfect ball to Row Z

Mike and Del are going to tell him they're leaving and the club is in Joey's control.
  6. I appreciate they've had plenty of shit back at times. Although, to be fair, it has usually been in response to them doing something heinous (Ashley and Mort were treat like heroes back at the beginning and they fucking lapped it up). However, it just narks me how we should be having a fantastic time and building something special here with what is/was a very good core group of players/professionals and we're still tripping over our feet because of their attitude. I don't understand why the fuck he bought us, basically. He's never shown any real ambition at all to make a success of things. Basically, that. But what I can't understand is why you wouldn't want to make a real go of it and try and maximise your profit. Ashley's clearly being very cautious and trying not to spend any money in the hope we'll survive, so be it if it's by the skin of our teeth. That doesn't excuse the ridiculous way he seems to treat his employees. Let's face it, even if this was an "ordinary" business, there's no way in hell a boss, or his deputy, should be treating well respected top employees like that. Bottom line; the man is a prick who we're severely unlucky to be with and I can't wait until we're shot of him.
  7. My heart was in my mouth for a minute there, c'mon son
  8. He's just getting all the yellow cards out of his system early, don't worry it'll be fine.
  9. If by some miracle we manage to finish in the top 6, would he do a u-turn? Or have his bridges already been burned?
  10. Not really arsed what he thinks tbh, Made it quite clear he wants out Yeah true that, quite sad how it's happened really, just kinda want it all over now and pray we can get a competent replacement.
  11. Yeah that's how I feel, I'm playing devil's advocate a bit though. Trying to figure how Jose might see things like
  12. We have progressed. How do you mean we have progressed? I can't see how we have progressed at all seeing as the season hasn't even begun yet?
  13. Mine's doing the tease little circle going round like it's buffering. Blatently not gona load up. I hate my interwebs sometimes.
  14. If you're serious about Cajun being serious, then you need a serious word with yourself. At least I hope Cajun is joking. Or I'm now a #helmet.

I think you can improve goal scoring technique though. Not saying he's going to turn into a natural finisher over night, but things such as composure can be worked on and hopefully improved. I'd still like to see him do well at the club, some of his substitute appearances last season really impressed me.
  16. Trouble is however that apart from the striker, who we intend to sign, we have a large squad that takes us to the limit of what is allowed under league rules, we can't get rid of the turboshit players, and we won't allow a player to be paid a weekly wage yet unregistered to play for us. That's a very good point and one I forgot about tbh. I seriously can't see Ashley letting Xisco, Smith and the like collecting their (allegedly) big wages while not even being registered, if we got some better quality players in. Quite a shit situation really.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

I share this hope as well. Last time in a transfer window in that we were desperate for more players (Jan 2009) we've lost Given and N'Zogbia and got Nolan and R. Taylor. I don't share the hopes. We're "desperate" for new players every single transfer window. Don't be silly. January 2009 was even worse, though. In a time where Barton and Beye just got injured to only add to our huge injury list that time. I can't even remember when the last time we didn't "absolutely have to sign four~five quality players this window." When the team is in less dire straits the expectations just go up to match that. I think a lot has to do with people's expectations. Yes, we do need to sign four or five quality players if we want to push on to Europe, that's the main aim for most fans to be honest. If we want to stand still and maybe become a top 10 side consistently, we don't "absolutely" need the four or five quality players. Anyway, gutted about Ben Arfa but if he misses say the first two or three games but plays for the rest of the season, we've had a touch.
  18. End of the day we're not bringing in ENOUGH quality players with the funds available, not that the players we've brought in are useless. I make Enrique totally right.
  19. The amount of optimism we had when we saw Cabaye, Ba and Marveaux all come through the door in quick sucession is now pretty much at an end, I believe it's because we've simply been too quiet as of late, however I think some perspective needs to be taken. It's not August yet. We all know the majority of activity occurs in August, so I still think we need to hold fire for a minute and see what sort of squad we have come September 1st. It's so hard to trust the cretins who run our club though, but I'm just holding on to the candle of light in the gloomy darkness that is our future with that lot in charge. As it's often said, you never know what's going to happen next with this club. There's still time for us to get a few more signings.

    Xisco

Massive c***, doesn't know how fortunate he is to even be playing football for a living. Faking injuries to avoid games is ridiculous.

  23. I think he's pretty important for our future, but not necessarily this season hence why Alexis was prioritised. Yeah I can see how he'd be a big player for you guys in the future. I suppose with Cesc having his heart set on coming back to you, there's no real reason to rush it! Thanks for clearing that and the Abidal thing up btw
  24. I'm interested to know actually, do you guys really want Cesc? Like would you be that bothered if you didn't get him?
