these are just hacking at us and the refs letting them get away with it

that’s a yellow all day

I'm pretty sure it was two of these tied together - https://hiplok.com/product/zlok1/ ie: https://static.standard.co.uk/2022/03/17/21/newFile-1.jpg?width=2400&auto=webp&quality=75 if you zoom in the clasp etc. is all the same as the lock above. I remember thinking at the time the shop I work in sells those . He was having to try way too hard for it to be just a zip tie!

so funny, man . World's biggest bolt cutters to cut a tiny bicycle lock.

nobody really gives Steven Gerrard enough credit for laying the foundations for Emery to thrive.
-
given he can’t keep a job this is probably him going for the right wing grift/Laurence Fox path. Ignore him.

unpopular opinion but I don't think Palhinha is good enough on the ball to play for a top team.

mildly interesting stat whilst browsing some fbref: Trippier (111) has attempted the most crosses in the premier league this season by quite a distance: But NUFC (205) have attempted the 2nd fewest crosses in the league:

If Dubs is anything like any of the other guys who've stepped in for injuries then he'll have a point to prove and he'll be better than we've ever seen him before.

Bruno only plays as a DM when we have possession in our first third of the pitch anyway. When the other team has the ball in settled possession and we go into our flat 4-5-1 shape Bruno is the one that presses the central opposition players most aggressively whilst the two other CMs are ready to cover runners or wide players. It's really unorthodox but seems to work and if we continue with it there's absolutely no need for a DM at this stage. Just need players with enough athleticism to cover for Bruno's lack of it either side of him in this setup. Look at where Bruno is compared to Miley and Joelinton for their goal kick which leads to the goal for instance: Our out of possession shape is pretty fluid. The ball eventually breaks for Bruno who creates the goal from a #10 position whilst Miley and Joelinton sit behind as a pivot: The next step for the midfield is getting some more technical quality in there without losing the athleticism, which will cost hundreds of billions. Tonali is supposed to fit that mould. Maybe we don't need to spend more there at all and should just develop Miley and Anderson instead? Would rather we spent big on a RW and GK next, but no idea who.

yeah. Other teams will be able to offer him a contract for a free transfer in about a month’s time. What’s going on?

Hakimi is the only one with a shout, I think

silver lining of the injury crisis is that we’re getting this lad some development. He could be a star for us for 15+ years.
-
it’s absurd when he plays like that. His decision making and use of the ball is so much better than anyone else I’ve seen play for us.
-
One thing I really like from those clips is that often when he receives the ball to feet he controls it with his weaker right foot and has already squared himself up to the defender before controlling it. This means he's ready to go outside or inside before he's even received the ball and it's the sort of thing you mostly see from elite wingers like ie Saka. What a perfect loan for him btw. Playing for the Dutch champions in the CL against teams like Atletico after only really having half a season in the Danish league. There will be loads of room for him to develop still. I'm sure Howe will have a look at him in pre-season.
-
He would've pressed and worked reasonably hard for Howe, I think. I don't really think of HBA as being a lazy player; he just really, really didn't want to do what Pardew wanted him to do which was play as an auxiliary right wing back without the ball.

this Pellistri lad looks rubbish

Oliveira is rubbish

Few injuries on the wet pitch tonight hopefully
