5-2-1-2: Keeper Miley-Thiaw-Botman Tino - Bruno - Tonali - Hall Woltemade Osula - Nunez Chaos

using Elanga costing £55m as a reason why other clubs should pay way above market value is a bonkers argument ffs
-
you're not going to get more than £70m for a forward with 3 non-penalty league goals and 2 assists. We'll be lucky to get anywhere near it.
-
fucking hate villa, like
-
be glad to see the back of him in all honesty
-
I don't believe Schar was poor at all last season tbh, I think that's nonsense. He was decent in his limited appearances this season too, with the team performing much more functionally defensively. He is our most proactive CB a distance, the only one who can adequately back up a man to man press. The other three (particularly Botman and Thiaw) are reactive and it makes the team worse.

Olise has been incredibly shit
-
nah not really, he's like Harvey Barnes fast I'd say. Just got so much balance and rapid feet. Pretty strong too. Unique player.

Kvara looks unstoppable

I do think we’ve been generally set up well to win games this season. Biggest problems have been no striker to kill games off, our keepers throwing it in their own net constantly, Thiaw’s studs etc. The cumulative effect of all that has made the players fragile mentally. If we’re talking about dire football, please watch the rest of the premier league. It is all awful.

terrible goalkeeping
-
clearly an unpopular opinion here but Jones is really good and underutilised by a poor coach at Liverpool. Would arguably be our most technically secure player, and someone in addition to Bruno who could receive the ball from the defence and progress it. I’d be happy if it were something like £30m. Given it’s the last year of his contract anything more would be a bit shit. Another caveat is that I’d only want to see him as part of a double pivot. Don’t want to see him as one of our 8s in a 4-3-3 where he hardly sees the ball.
-
gone to do him there. Everton CBs get away with murder.
-
Looked like a team playing with zero confidence second half and played accordingly. It really doesn't matter at this point, getting the 3 points is all that we needed. The win should do them good.

I fucking hate him, man
-
Tonali has been so poor today
-
we cannot keep playing Pope
-
wtf was that by Thiaw, man
-
All from Pope again. Absolutely useless man.
-
ok but the xG, which is the only data we have to measure this with any accuracy, is 2.14 - 0.34 (which is as good as nowt) in our favour.
-
No, only that we've had significantly more chances than they have
-
by that logic we'd have scored 6
-
think it's a case of him being a round peg in a round hole. He fits us much better than the other options without being particularly good individually. I don't think striker should be a hard position for us to get right. We create a lot of opportunities for a player who will run in behind and get into the 6 yard box.
