Think Everton are showing exactly how you deal with Brighton here. Man Utd did it last week pretty well too (obviously lost, but that's because they were poor with the ball). Defend extremely narrow to combat their box midfield and do not press their centre backs at all.

Joelinton and Isak are the only two capable of attacking the ball properly and I feel like we rarely aim for either of them directly. There's definitely some work that needs doing on the training pitch.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the two games where our CBs have looked most exposed this season have also been the two games that we’ve had no Sean Longstaff. We can’t play that midfield 3. Just doesn’t work structurally in terms of defensive protection or playing out from the back.

If you're expecting perfection all the time you're absolutely mad. edit: he also has 10.7 xAG; 3rd highest in the league behind KdB and Bruno F, but he only has 6 assists from it. This tells you how badly the people he's creating for are underperforming.

Schar missed a header from 3 yards out today, Botman missed one last week. We miss loads of easy headers but Trips gets the flack because sometimes he doesn’t get past the first man. Botman doesn’t have a goal this season despite us (I’m fairly sure) having the highest xG from set pieces in the league.
